Hello all,

Thought I better introduce myself again, my name is John and I bought a LH 4 door a few months ago. Plan is to prep the body as best I can myself then get a pro to do the finishing touchs and paint. Car has a 253, 4 speed and 3.08. Was originally an SL and previous owner dropped the running gear in so nothing really special but do hope that one day it does become something special.

Also, wanted to add that this is the first car I've ever tried restoring and I have no panel beating experience so please feel free to critisize my work if I'm doing something wrong or if you have a better way. I'm only 23 so theres plenty to learn.

Anyway, finally got the car into the old man's shed the other week and started stipping her down. Sorry for the crap photos. Was only using the phones camera!

Was very happy with the body as there hasn't been to many hidden nasties. Few holes under the front windscreen and a bit of surface rust on the floor and under the dash but nothing major. Rear window was very clean so was happy with that. Does need a rear section replaced as pictured.

The previous owner had put so many different layers of primer and paint that I decided to paint strip the car. Was a good idea as there was very poor prep work under the paint and surface rust was visable.

Thats as far as I've got. Will hopefully finish stripping the paint and then can put the running gear out to prep the engine bay. Will keep you posted. Again, any tips will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks John.

Not to sure to be honest. I saw it advertised else where but yeah could have been. Wasn't to bad of a buy. I'm sure there are nicer bodies out there for sale but this one is good for my budget. Thanks for the comment.
