If any one sends me a message, I might just be a little slower to reply than normal as I'm loading containers at the moment...but I'll still be checking in at night when I get a spare moment :)

Hey Jeff, do you deal with "Mecum" Auctions? If I were to obtain a car from "Mecum" could you ship it? What prices are normally involved include shipping and taxes/duty etc?

cheers,
trent.

No, I have never delt with them...I just buy all my cars locally.

I can ship it for you of course (well, not this go around as there is not time, but will be loading again in June)

Cost for an average sized car like a Camaro, etc is $3500 from here in LA to Melbourne (only place I ship into as mentioned before). All the taxes would depend on the cost of the car of course...

Thanks,

Jeff

Gday Jeff. I am looking at purchasing a short motor from Shafiroff soon. Its a small block. Whats it worth to be shipped? I would have to organize to get it to WA after it lands or do you do that also? Thanks Mick

I'd have to know it's value to give you a landed price...and yep, you would have to organize all the shipping from my mate's factory in Lilydale outside of Melbourne to you.

Thanks !

The hard part is getting the import approval
Same as cars mate... pre 89 sort of easy
After 89 you need a SEVS workshop to comply it

Aaaahhh righto....

Thought bikes might be easyer due to the null difference between left and right drive and lack of ADR's :P

Cheers.

There are still ADR's for bikes
Just fewer crash tests

And same rules apply in that you can't bring a model thats already available here

I'm working with some people on bringing Harleys in... at around 10k cheaper than local prices... but its still not that easy

See here

Looks expensive and difficult....

I can get a similar model in AUS for only about 5k more...Will just save up for longer.

Plenty of cool HD's pre 89....

Cheers.

Yep...as you guys already talked about late model bikes (or cars) are a no go due to compliance laws. (We have compliance on 2009 and newer Camaros, so those are no problem B) ) But the bikes are a nope for me. Older stuff is fine though! I just sent (it just landed there a few weeks ago actually) a 1941 Indian Four for a guy...and this go around a guy just bought a 1970 Harley...hopefully he can get it to me in time...he's over here on a holiday/buying trip so that makes it easier for him to sort stuff out at least, lol.

I've got one container loaded and gone, starting on the next one this morning...and still a couple/few more to do...and have a few boats to get in as well (plus buying abit more stuff..and a swap meet this weekend too) so the running around never stops!

Oh and Mick...on the engine...I can land it for $1200 (that's shipping/taxes/etc all up total sitting in Melbourne)

Takes 4 - 5 weeks for the containers to arrive from the time they leave...(into Melbourne remember is the only place I ship into)

For those wheels you'd be looking at $300 to land them..

Off your value, that is it...all up total.

But you would have to completely organize getting them from my mate's shop in Lilydale (outside Melbourne) to you, I don't organize any of that keep in mind. (I try to stick with local guys for that reason, since it's alot easier)

(Still loading now but be done this week so no time now..)

Went to a swap meet this morning and grabbed a couple of little bits and pieces to send over at least too

You've got a little bit of time still now, but shoot me a message and I can let you know where to send them when the time comes and they are ready!

Oh, and like I mentioned, I only ship into Melbourne please keep in mind, so you would have to organize your own courier, etc up to NSW when they do arrive. B)
