Ok, here she is. Be kind. She may not look like much but she is the love of my life.

I bought it 5 years ago for $300 but then got married. This has slowed progress. I have finaly talk my wife into letting me get back at this project.. I have always want to have hot SLR replica. My first car when I was 18 with a 6 cyclinder poo brown torana. It used to go like stink so I can't wait to get a V8 on the road.

Mmmm EFI 304 LH. Cheap, economical - perfect combo for a Torana. Are you going to use the rear diff from the commie and cut it down to size?

ok its been a while since my last update.... mmmm where do i start, im still just stripping down the body getting it ready to paint and finding out just how bad the rust is. The rear quarter looks pretty nasty but lucky its all below the point of where the rust repair panel sits so should be all good.Posted Image
been doing heaps of little odd jobs, i could bang on about it for hours but still feels like im getting no where. what i want is to fit my engine and box! i bought a Torana sump and oil pickup and have fitted that up but made a smill stuff up with the engine mounts so have to save up and get a set but ill get the auto crossmember to suit the T700 at the same time so im up for about $350.00 till then my motor sits on the floor in my garage.Posted Image

Best place for a VN/VP commodore. even the good ones drive like shit. at least you can have the torana in the shed.

ok i have been told on here by a few guys that to get the efi motor to fit i need to trim the firewall lips back my question is which one... top or bottom or both? i also want to cut the chassis rail side lips off for more clearance but is that going to cause me problems when i go to get it registered?

I think it's fine if you trim it all, it will still be welded, and doesn't form a structural point.

I didn't have to trim the firewall at all to fit the injected 5.0ltr into my LH. I might point out that i've owned & seen a few LH-LX Toranas that have cracked & split along the lower firewall flange, i remember pulling the heater out of an LX hatch to fit a stereo to find a gap between the upper & lower part of the firewall i could almost put my hand through. As such, i always seam weld these flanges.

i finally got my engine mounts sorted out and got the T700 crossmember too. Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image
so wanted to trial fit the motor and box but im having nothing but problems just cant seem to be able to line the engine mounts up onto the cross member
Posted Image
i ended up giving up on it for the night and just left it sitting on top of the crossmember... stupid thing! Posted Image
