About to pick a electric water pump for my 308 and im after info on different brands so far i have found 3

CVR
Diecrest
Procomp

I ruling procomp out straight away anybody tried the cvr or diecrest ones i had cvr starter motor that was a pain to fit and ended up ditching it for a VS style one so im a little hesitant to try any of there other gear if theres any other brands out there that peoplw have good results please post

NEVER use procomp! It's mostly cheap made in china stuff that always fails. My brother wasted thousands of dollars on a 383 stroker cleveland V8 in his XY falcon using mostly procomp gear. The engine managed one 11.9 run before everthing started to fail. The manifold even started to weep water directly through the alloy. The alloy was that porous. The heads started to weep oil from everywhere. So stick with a well known reputable brand. This is a great electric water pump on my V8, still going great after years of service. It even runs my heaters as per standard spec.

From what I hear an electric fan does save you on horsepower, etc. but electric water pumps don't have the same savings if you factor in the cost, etc. Was told previously a mechanical one is the way to go.

i read it was something stupid like 5 hp?
but the main benefit was you got rid of the thermostat and therefore got a constant flow
(which you can set to how you like, and not rely on revs or the motor running, sort of like a turbo timer)
which allows the motor to get to operating temp quicker and stay there longer
i may be wrong but
