hi all, well i made a start on the hatchback today. its in better condition than i thought. but still when we get down into to where the rust is i know there is always more than you think. ive got doors coming and still the only rust is rear bever, c panels and around hatch rubber. just a few pics so far, next is engine bay.

Looks very nice, but at the same time placid would make a great sleeper base.

It looks good now and will only get better,

hi all, well after six months the work had started. she got blasted last week. and you can see just how rust free she is. the only rust was in the c pillars, small amount in the bever and in the heater box. i think it was due to leaves etc sitting in there. anyway as you can see he is cutting out the rust. he removed the top panel to get to the lower section. we are using a doner uc torana we cut up for this section. the left hand 1/4 panel was full of filler where she was damaged at some stage but no rust. more pics to come in a few weeks.

Mate, that has got to be the best way to fix rust in the plenum chamber, but!

How hard is it to remove it?

You'll have to put pics of the repair as it goes, can't wait to see another Hatch finished and on the road again.

hi all, will have a few more pics by the weekend. just thought i would give the guys doing the job a plug. first of all, tom from extreme blasting. he has people coming from all over the state to get him to blast there cars and parts. he is very good at what he does and he loves the old school cars.then there is dale from dale murphy panel beating he is a restoration specialist doing one car at a time and he is very good at what he does also.these guys work next to each other and i thought i would share these guys with you all just in case you needa perfect blast job and/or a paint job and anything. talking to tom this after noon he was saying he is blasting a vk bluey tomorrow.he uses different materials and he can blast all the flat panels with no problem.

cheers
