Hi Graham, an impressive project. I think that if something is worth doing then its worth doing right. I assume that the body filler is applied directly over etch primer. That is different to my days when I was panel beating. I believe the SL arrives today with pick up in a day or so. Cheers John

Graham, it better be worth the wait. I can't wait to see it and stamp your personal touch. I don't mean pissing on the wheels. Cheers John

LX5008, that looks like one LJ XU-1 which is presently for sale on AMC Sales for 95K.

If I had a spare wad of ca$h that thing would be sitting in my shed right now :spoton:

Thought it was the same car as it is also fitted with those distinctive tyres with that directional tread pattern.

Didn't think there were many lime green metallic XU-1's out there which have recently been restored but maybe there is. :D

its just taken lots more time than i thought it would take to get to this stage. after two weeks it gets bolted together, buffed and then the black goes on.

Ohhh maaate!!! looks great. Two weeks eh? Might pop up your way then and grab my parts from PJ.

Love the trims and carpets too. Just like it rolled out the factory. Have you recon'd the air yet or the motor?

You must be jumping out of your skin wanting it all back together. Great job.

Cheers, Leakey

PS - I sent a pic of it to the previous owner in SA. She was totally blown away!! (her old man is in the big wrecking yard in the sky)

Looking good.

That's going to look fantastic sitting beside the SLR.

I reckon you'll be busy over the Christmas holidays putting it back together but what a Christmas present. :D

Mick.
