First of all a very big thanks to Rob for making the day happen. There were alot of nice cars on the day and was a good turn out.
We had a total of 1 and a half runs lol.
I did the burnout the car felt fine it hooked up took off fine then bogged down and felt flooded and wouldn’t rev so seeing it still had oil pressure i thought id putt till the end and come back, around 1000ft mark i saw the paint on the bonnet start to bubble and smoke start to come out of under the bonnet i pulled over released the bonnet and jumped the concrete fence and let the fire blokes do their job wich they did very well and responded really quickly thanks guys. Sorry if i stuffed up every one for a while because they had to clean the track.
Ill be writing up a list with dad on Monday of what we have to get as the wireing is melted, bonnet and carbie is stuffed, and alot of other stuff in the engine bay and have to piant the whole front end again. I couldn’t believe every one offered help straight away a very big thank you to everyone you are all a really good bunch of guys thanks john (Minty torana) for assistance straight after the incident and ned - tony at Hercules engines and brother norm and any one else i missed and especially joe (unclefesta l34) your always there for us thanks mate.
its very upsetting but See you all next year we will be back

rob garcia is banned from next years drag day for this effort lol.little whipper snappers should learn to respect their elders :stirpot:
and as scotty says i was giving her all shes got.

haha yeah right thanks for taking it easy on me, seen on the end of the first run my daughters boyfriends car (VR SS) parked with a ruined fan belt, goes to show you that sometimes its a 50c part that can let you down. i gotta hand it to you mate , i thought i did alot of runs but it seems each time i was on the track there you were in your beautifully turned out hatch. I think we must have covered a few k's yesterday and i gotta say the car always seems to love the run back to the gong after getting a flogging at the track.

And anyway when do i become an elder ? I thought i had earned my wings :)

Thanks for allowing us to photograph the Drag day again. Whilst it was bloody hot and humid, we had a great day and it was fantastic to see such a good turn out.

So, by the time you wake up and log into the forums in the morning all the low res images should be uploaded

http://www.motorspor...ays/GMH-Torana/

CD/DVD's will be sorted, burnt and printed this week and I should have them to Rob before the end of the week.

Also, if anyone is interested - I am able to get some mouse mats / stubby holders / cups / coasters / bar mirrors etc etc all custom made with your images if you would like.

I will get a price list up here ASAP if anyone is interested.

Cheers
Jason

Glad you like the photos - bear in mind you will also get a CD/DVD with all the original hi-res images as well, no watermarks. So you can get some posters / canvas done up if you want..

Jase, There are a couple of photos I would like done as mouse mats and stubby coolers, Some of my family and inlaws want to see what simmo drives ( yes... faster than me....)

Is there anyone else who would like their car on a mouse mat or stubby cooler?
I can vouch for the quality, Ive got one of each and theyre bloody great! (well.. .my cooler got stolen at christmas time!!)

Cheers!

Just waiting on them to get back to me with the pricing. - I have asked for "one off" pricing so bulk orders would be cheaper.

when is the next one? Ive now got more blokes asking me for a spot for the next one, they were all worried originally about spending that much money, but the couple that came to this one have been raving how good it was, so now they are all keen as mustard!

Was good to head up for a look. Definitely will be running the car next year.

SS Hatchback glad to hear it was nothing major.

Also just to note, a fair few cars were loosing a shit load of fuel out the rear filler when racing. I should have noted the cars. Could potentially be a major issue lol

From memory the silver unflared hatch that ran 10's was one of them.
