I grew up not far from the speedway. The bush across the road from me became the TAFE. There was bush/acreage to the west of me all the way out through Austral and beyond.
Havent been there for years but last time it was a sea of terra cotta.

Banks bush, HAHA what a blast that was.

I used to walk (or ride BMX when the BMX races were on) to the speedway too...

They moved Green Valley cop shop there and there is a shopping centre on the old speedway now.

I remember when the cop shop was on the corner near the pub.
Wooden hut thing.
That is until it burnt down.

They were great days back then at Liverpool! Back in the mid 70's the track went ashphalt and then the cars changed from the dirt bashers to a modern looking sports sedan look! Pictured here is one of my hand drawn prints of Brian Callaghans first version Blown Torana! What a weapon this car was on the black top! It was great to see this car beat the visiting yanks in their Chev Vega 350s Yeah great times back then!

Just letting everyone know, Brian Callaghan is currently in ICU in Norwest Hospital, Bella Vista with heart issues and blood clots in his left kidney that has essentially killed the kidney. The family is waiting on results from tests to see what the prognosis is. His heart rate is currently very high and that is the main concern.

Will post when more is known.

Callaghan also had a crack at Group C in the ex Ed Mulligan L34 rally car.
