Clint, the carpet is from Knox and so is the underlay. Im pretty happy with the fit actually. I had read comments over the years that moulded carpets were never much chop.... (Ive always started from scratch) but I think the fitment is pretty good actually!

If you have the original carpet you will see what I mean. The carpet has cuts and cut outs for this very reason.
The reason for this is so that the seat is secured, metal on metal. You should apply a small amount of chalking compound to ensure that no water comes up from the bolt thread. If you bolt the seat bracket on the carpet, there is a chance that the carpet will squash down and the seat will no longer be secured. Could be an issue in an accident.
I believe that in some states it could be an issue is going over the pits.
Keep up the great work

Great job brings back memories. Mate if I can give one advice, that is, unless you know already, seat brackets need to be bolted to metal portion of floor.

Thanks again for pointing this out to me John. Made some slits in the carpet to allow the rail mount to fit into neatly so it will be metal on metal.
Cheers.
