The clips I used are these fellas:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270884220309
They come in packs of 40, I thought Id get away with 2 packs but I was wrong... Im 9 clips short.... so now awaiting on another pack of 40 to arrive end of next week sometime....
Those clips Ive also partially trimmed off one side of the wing, (you will understand when you see them), so that it isnt seen once the trim is in place.
The rivets Ive used are these:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Holden-Torana-HB-UC-Body-Mould-Trim-Clip-Rivets-Studs-/270887764071?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f122b4067
They come in a pack of 20, you will need 3 packs. They are fitted using a normal pop rivet gun. They also supply a 3mm drill bit with each pack.
Plenty of masking tape to prevent scratching and also to allow marking out where the trim sits and then where the clip will go. I used a centre punch to punch the spots fist, then a small pilot hole..... and instead of using a drill (as its to bulky) I used my trusty dremel style tool with its remote extension, as it can get into the hard to reach places safely. I also occasionally used a rubber mallet wrapped up with a rag to gently tap the trip onto the clip. If you screw up and have to remove it, you pretty much destroy the clip.... hence why Ive been left short....
But Ive noticed your car is an LX? So he trims are totally different and the advice I have given may be totally incorrect...

Thanks for all the effort explaining that, I will let you know how I go, though it won't be for a few weeks. Mine isn't painted yet, so I'll dummy fit a door in primer and let you know what happens.
Can't wait to see the rest of your car unfold, it's already incredible.

If you car is not painted, well then Id sure as shit be fitting them up, drilling holes and popping rivets now, save all the masking tape and risk of damage later.

Dismantled showing how crappy inside is...
Old core:
Flaps showing new foam:
I actually removed all the vents and fitted felt down the sides and bottom to bring back the firmness to the vents, otherwise they are just all floppy and you cant point them in a certain direction, as they wont stay put...
New heater core:

Is there such thing as a average job at your place? Everything is just perfection.
Hahahahaha!!! Thanks for the kind words mate. Just another job that has to be done I guess...

I just ask as I put a yellow type foam around the vents in my HJ, and 1 summer later I had yellow bits EVERYWHERE! Looked like a heap of cadbury crunchie's had exploded!
I'd hate to see your interior covered in a yellow dust storm.
