The thought crossed my mind this arv that perhaps I should fit 13in wheels and SLR hubcaps. What type of 13in rin was used??? Width??? The SLR hubcaps... How do they attach? Is there a chrome dress ring that goes around the rim also? What colour were the hubcaps??

To the car or the gearbox stand? Love your work Brad. Did you win the passenger side manifold on Egay?

Hey Mark,

Do you have some hubcaps? Or rims?

Brad, Your car would look smicko with 13" rims and hubcaps !!!

Just check the valve position of any rims that you may be looking at to make sure it fits the SLR hubcap vavle position.

On some rims the valve is in line with a wheel nut, and on others the valve occurs between two wheel nuts. Believe it or not.

You will know what i mean when you see it.

Ahhhh interesting!!!

So what valve position is correct to suit the hubcaps? Inline with a nut or between?

What width rim should it be?

Brad, check out this thread, as there is a photo in the first post- you will see that the valve is in line with a wheel nut.

http://www.gmh-toran...ng-slr-hudcaps/

The rim width is 5.5".

A mate of mine bought a set of rims, had them blasted and painted, and then found about the two different vavle positions- SPEWING !!!

Brad the original SLR hubcaps are readily available on egay or word of mouth in your local car club. They aren't to pricey. Personally the whole 13" rim hubcap combo looks super gay and the period hotwires look a treat buuuuuut if that's what you like its all that matters :)

I'm hearing ya but you still have to drive it . Haha
When I Got mine licensed over here in WA after buying it from country NSW I threw on the stock rims so I could pass inspection and OMG !! It drove terrible, rolling around n understeer / oversteer and wheels spinning at a touch of the pedal hahah .., it was amusing but boy was I glad to get the hotwires back on :D

I stole that idea from a fellow forum member!!! Worked a treat!!! Was a bit tricky with the jack and springs inside the blast cabinet when I was prepping them however...
