Maybe my mistake, standard LX the vents only pivot up and down but with aircon you get the knob in the middle to move left and right as well. Was this standard on LH?

Got a washer motor from Milton Performance, got the end bell re-zinc'd. cleaned up the commutator and brushes and found a crack in the impeller, so fixed that up. Should work well now.

Got my brake booster overhauled. I 2 pac'd it prior to assembly.

Posted Image

Also got the calipers done over. They were pretty sad looking to start with. Wasn't sure if they should be gold or blue??

Having a hard time trying to find some Torana rocker covers for you mate

Plenty for the big Holdens, I didn't think it was going to be this difficult

Probably because Torana's were always hotted up and these were one of the first thing to go when making the engine bay all pretty

Thanks for trying Mark. I've been hunting around also, but yeah, same.. Plenty of H series rocker covers around. Might even try a wanted ad on eBay? It's amazing all the little differences of a LH Torana V8 Rocker Cover compared to all the others out there.

Phillip, I don't have an itemized invoice but I think I got out of it fairly well. Booster overhaul, M/C overhaul, prop valve overhaul, overhaul calipers with new pistons, 4 new hard lines, 2 rubber hoses, plus a few bits re zinc'd and what not.

Total $1165.

I blasted/2 pac'd the bits whilst everything was apart.

I so hope to be finished by Xmas... I had anticipated it would have been done by now but it's just been so time consuming.... Never ending tasks and jobs to be done.

You wanna have a go at the panel work on my next project?? Your work looks a heck of a lot better then what I could ever do!

It's all the running around and small detail stuff that becomes a time vacuum I musta gone back to the zinc platers half a dozen times when doing dad's car. You can get em looking like a car in no time then the hard work starts.

Brakes are pretty much done. Once the front end is in, the calipers can be bolted up.

Havnt really got much more to update on, seem to be spending a lot of time in the shed but not really accomplicing anything... Just doing small dumb tasks that have to be done I spose.

But I've fitted a real bearing to the lower steering column.

Need to get the coffee pot back together and get the colum sorted out.

And I'm almost ready to lift the donk onto the k-frame. Maybe next weekend I'll get that done?

Good luck Brad finding some radio knobs. I have sourced some rocking horse poo recently which was much easier to find!!! Most radio knobs come with a radio attached...

Yeah I dare say I'll be buying another radio just to get the knobs then dump the radio.... Shame. One knob on eBay just sold for $122????

Had another closer look, that one on the left is missing the spark plug lead carrier from on top.
