Thanks Nick, but the oil filler cap is on the wrong side..

Thanks to a fellow forum member here, I may in fact have this situation under control.

All this talk and info about rocker covers should probably go in my other thread to keep all the info in one spot.

http://www.gmh-toran...-rocker-covers/

And Ive just realized that this is the first weekend (Sat or Sun) since February that I havnt spent working on the car at all in the shed....

Sorry mate I realized once I posted. It confused me with the description. I hope you find them for the right price I think with such detail your car is being put together it deserves to wear those rocker covers proud.

Cheers
Nick

Cheers mate, things have really slowed down lately.. Which I guess isnt to bad, so many people start rushing there projects as they near the end and dont do things 100%.

I got a hold of this NOS front bumper rubber also. Ive got a NOS UC rear one also, not sure if it will fit...?

Gotta love the look of a V8 on a k frame. They always remind me of a polaris trike on streriods.

I also love getting Torana parcels. They should come up nice.

Looks great Brad.
Just out of interest and for my own learning;
- what is a 'stripper tank' - is it a parts washer tank full of thinners or something else altogether?
- how are going to re-unite the K-frame to the body - lift the car up somehow, roll it all under there and then lower the body down I assume, but wondering what part of the car you'll use as a lifting point?
- it must be bloody hard to move the k-frame about or is it pretty well balanced now the engine is mounted to it?
- will you mate the gearbox before installing the k-frame or do this afterwards?
It all looks fantastic by the way - only wish I was as far along as you are.
Cheers, TB

Looks great Brad.
Just out of interest and for my own learning;
- what is a 'stripper tank' - is it a parts washer tank full of thinners or something else altogether? We have a large tank at work that is full of ARDROX 666, its a hardcore stripper that takes off paint and other crap.
- how are going to re-unite the K-frame to the body - lift the car up somehow, roll it all under there and then lower the body down I assume, but wondering what part of the car you'll use as a lifting point? Yes, same way as I removed it, rear wheels up on ramps, brackets fitted to the bumper bar chassis rail mounts with chain in between, engine crane then does the rest.
- it must be bloody hard to move the k-frame about or is it pretty well balanced now the engine is mounted to it? No, its pretty well balanced, once the g/box is bolted up to it, it will be even easier to move around. As it is, I just grab the sway bar and wheel it around.
- will you mate the gearbox before installing the k-frame or do this afterwards? As above, clutch and gearbox will be mated before fitment to the car.
It all looks fantastic by the way - only wish I was as far along as you are. To be totally honest, I expected to be a lot further along by now... I pulled all this out in Jan... what the hell have I been doing for 6 months???
Cheers, TB

And Mort, it would be nice to be 90% finished by Xmas time this year. Rocker covers are stripped, blasted and I just finished priming them

Decided to fit the column prior to engine install as I thought Id have issues getting the column through the new firewall grommet with the clips and what no fitted to the end of it... I would imagine trying to re-fit them once the motor was back in would be very tricky???

Anyways since the column is back in, that meant the dash cluster and crash pad could go back in to!

Brad, did you paint the top pannel of your dash (demister area)? If so is it satin or flat black?
I'm about to do mine.

Hey mate. It was painted satin when the car was painted during the time the previous owner possessed the car.

I believe napes_au had found the correct GMH code for this?
