Make sure you put those tie-rod ends up the other way when you do them up tight Brad.
The LH manual is ass about.

Should the caliper be at the front or towards the rear of the car? Can't remember. I know my lines are tight when jacked up but not that much.

There are two ways the rubber hose is connected. The early cars had the hose connected as per your setup to the panel. Later cars have the hose mounted under the guard and a steel line with a rubber grommet through the panel.

Maybe the hoses that connect under the guard are a little shorter than the hoses that connect to the panel.

Yeah bud, check out the taper of the holes in the steering arms.
Like all good nuts-they should hang down! :)

Tailshaft new uni's fitted and balanced. Was $266 to balance and fit supplied uni's.

Posted Image

Tried to fit the tailshaft but the diff shop have fitted the incorrect yoke to my diff.... so that needs to all come out again to get that fixed.... f*ck me....

Also the radiator is right to go. New tanks and core and correct mounting bands. $566 plus $50 for the bands..... Expensive 2 core radiator...

Well my run of bad luck continues...

Aside from the diff centre needing to be removed and taken to the diff shop to have the correct V8 yoke fitted.

Ive now heard back from the Exhaust shop saying the disc used to make the RHS exhaust pipe from header to muffler is U/S and they cant supply that pipe. Would need a shop to make it.... Which now brings me back to the problem of finding a local shop capable and interested in doing the job, and a flat bed truck to/from the exhaust shop. F*CK ME..... Just about ready to walk away from this thing.

Have you tried exhaust shops in Brisbane or interstate? You are so close have a break from it. I feel the same with my car. Restos are 1 step forward 2 steps back.

Thats a bastard about the exhaust Brad, as you know I wanted to get one from them as well.
I will make some enquiries down here-must be someone with the old patterns that can ship up to you.

Thanks Stuart. Yeah mate. I was honestly devastated when they told me that.... I would assume the design is on a 1.44mb floppy? They advise they cant copy the disc as its to far gone. Not sure what methods they tried. Keen to hit em up to see if they would send me the disc so I can try and get it copied. Hopefully the data isnt to corrupt.....

Yes please ring around mate.... None of the shops up have anything. And there is only possibly one shop that could make the missing pipe on the car. But it still means a very expensive trip in on a flat bed and another expensive trip home on a flat bed.....

I was still intending on buying the rest of the system minus the missing drivers side engine pipe.

if I could track down an old pipe perhaps a shop could copy it????

Hi Carl.

Long story short.

A company in Perth was going to supply me with a stock standard exhaust to suit LH Torana.

Engine pipes from exhaust manifolds to mufflers (2in diam)
Mufflers with 2in inlet and 1 5/8 outlet
Tailpipes 1 5/8 diam.

However they have advised me that they cant supply the Drivers side engine pipe from exhaust manifold to muffler......

I was intending to purchase everything else however. But Im trying to avoid having to take the car into an exhaust shop to have this one pipe custom made up..... It will be an expensive exercise as the car is not startable nor driveable.

Yeah mate. I ditched the extractors and fitted stock manifolds. That way the heat pipe and auto choke work.

Going to Mackay today, if I got time will see exhaust shops, what shall i ask for so they can understand and hopefully get it right.

Do i need to ask for a particular brand , part numbers, etc.

Either post it here or text me on 0429798159 and i will see what i can find out.
