Only for hill billys like me who have no access to cheaper parts. Besides Im used to paying top dollar for stuff.

Exhaust arrived from WA today missing the RHS engine pipe, luckily a forum member has helped me out to source the missing pipe, which is awaiting collection at the courier depot. Im away from home for the next week or so, so no work will be getting done....

So what did it end up costing and where did you end up getting it from, still waiting for a price from the mob in Mackay i visited ( same ones that i got the engine pipe price from).

Looks like the dog helped unwrap it, hope he cleaned up after himself :D

Ummm, It was $585 for the exhaust from Autoline plus $65 freight from WA to FNQ, (Which I thought was bloody cheap!) They were unable to supply the RHS engine pipe, however thanks to a very kind forum member (Carl aka lx77slr5k) he was able to source the Berklee NOS RHS engine pipe with balance pipe. I think that ended up being about $100 with freight.

And yeah George made a good ol mess for me to clean up. But he had fun doing it!

Sweet, and it's about time you got a break with the cost of things, it sounds cheap enough to me.

We will now wait for the "fitting of the new exhaust" saga, hope it all goes well and fits like a glove you could sure do with some good luck at the moment.

Don't forget the noise pics after it's fitted. :spoton:

Your are a patient guy Brad.

Your car is coming up a treat.

I sold a Berklee muffler/ exhuast set to a guy in WA a few years ago- they could be my old ones, or it could just be a coincidence.

If i am not wrong, this guy had a genuine auto SLR 5000.

Well done Brad.

No worries Dave, let me know if I can help in anyway before they get fitted up.

Mate.... I highly doubt they will fit. Im certain Ill run into problems. The spanners will continue to fly! Yep, once the front spoiler is fitted I can get the radiator fitted and exhaust fitted and its basically ready to fire up. Just need working brakes to go for a spin. But yes, Ill get some footage uploaded for sure.

Thanks mate. The majority of the system is new from Autoline in WA, however the RHS Berkle engine pipe was sourced through an exhaust shop as NOS.

brad - what's that dog eating in the background ? A Kebab ?- you can now say " the dog ate it " !

It's like me with the kid's, my misus say's when i'm working on the car " what's the kid's upto " under my breath i say " how the FUXkj would i know !" , then i Say " Arn't hey with you ?"

also how funny is that exhaust sticker " the sound of silence " it must have been the exhaust that they used in the " Simon and Garfunkel record " ? HAAA !

Not really that appropriate for a hot 308 holden

go son go with the car !

Mate , I used to work in an exhaust shop. You will have heaps of fun fitting the exhaust. It's generally not a good idea to mix brands.
Have you got the correct manifolds? Seem to.remember torana being different from other V8 holdens.
I also recon you might need a hoist to get the.tailpipes on or drop the diff out and put them in that way

Sorry if i sound negative, just letting you know some of the hurdles you might come up against.
It might also be handy if you have an oxy set handy in case you need to bend the pipes slightly.

Spent an entire friggen day fitting up the front spoiler. I would have thought the panel shop may have dummy fitted things before painting??? Or perhaps not.

Posted Image

George doesn't care.

I've got the correct number plate bracket, however is the plate mounted via the plates top holes or the bottom holes or straight through the guts?

Anyways now the spoiler is on its allowed me to fit the radiator also.

Got my old alternator rebuilt using the guts of a brand new Bosch 85A. So it's the old case with the right part number on the outside but high output and new inside. $305 in total.

brad pretty sure the number plate looks better mounted on the bottom holes

after you fit the bumper you will see why!

Cool. Thanks for that.

Bumpers.... Hmmmmmmm.... Thats something I need to get onto... Still debating on sending mine away for repair/re-chrome or buy new ones...

Its really coming down to the extra cost of freight down/back. Rather then just one way. Hmmmmmmmm
