A bottle opener flicks them off pretty well.

Well if a bottle opener works to get them off, surely one of these would work to get them on.

Its best put in park with the brake on but you can try it in neutral and let us know how you go.

They actually come off quite easily IF you know what you are doing.

Would you care to share your knowledge? I've seen a lot of people damage them trying to pry them off

All i use is a 4" paint scraper. Preferably of good quality.

There is a ridge on the underside of the mould, that's where you want to be bumping it off from ..... NOT ON THE EDGE OF THE MOULDING.

Tap the handle of the scraper with the palm of your hand  just hard enough to release it, not hard enough so it bends up into a pretzel & lands on the neighbours roof. Work your way along the mould from back to front until it has seperated from the gutter.

When re-fitting, lock the corner (bend) part if first so that both 'planes' are secured at the top hook/lip, then bump on with the palm of your hand. Work along the piece & job done.

Make sure that the 'C' pillar gutter mould fits IN TO  the top gutter mould first.

Can you please clarify this bit so I fully understand.

The long gutter mould fits over the short C-pillar piece.

Ahhh ok. So ensure the C pillar trim is in place first and that it fits into the trim before getting halfway through installing. Thanks mate.

When you say drip mouuld? Do you mean the C pillar section that runs almost vertical behind the rear door?

I've got those sections, I'm chasing the ones that run up the A pillars and along the roof line.  When I got my car back off the charlatan that pulled it apart, these were in the list of parts were missing.

Hey mate. Get friendly with yout local Supercheap Auto store or Mackay Rubber stockist. Purchase as many hoses as you can carry and spend some time with trial and error... Make sure you keep all your receipts so you can return all the hoses that dont fit! Thas what I had to do....

I might have it written down somewhere? Not sure.... the Supercheap Auto receipts fade to nothing after a few months... And cant be read.

Cheers,

Looks like Mackay part number CH1614 is what I'm after for the front hose. Just have to trim it to fit but the curved bit looks like it should fit well. The rear heater hose can be substituted with CH1326. Once I fit them to the car I'll confirm there suitability just in case anyone else has to replace these.

Deadly looking arrows there to!

Gotta be careful they don't pierce those hoses  :D

Mackay were making the short hose again, I bought one about 12-18 months ago. CH942 ? Runs from thermostat housing to manifold (not to heater).

Hopefully Bursons will swap the CH1614 for a CH942.  When I went to the Mackay site they didn't list this hose under Torana applications and under HQ they don't even list any heater hoses ??? but under HJ they have it listed there.

Thanks

mugginz

Yep. The gutter trim that everyone seems to be chasing.... One would think RSP would re-make these? There are trims for LJ's re-made.

I get the feeling the LC/LJ series gets a little more love from the reproduction guys at the moment.

Geez first the flare bit got me, then you mentioned Chevy......please don't do that again.  This car probably would get more looks at a show than the equivelant flared/cheved up version.  A credit to Brad for going stock....
