Geez first the flare bit got me, then you mentioned Chevy......please don't do that again.  This car probably would get more looks at a show than the equivelant flared/cheved up version.  A credit to Brad for going stock....

I actually agree.

I love chevs in toranas, I love flares on toranas, I love drop tanks on toranas.....and I also just love toranas.

As a stock LH SLR 5000 Brads car does a supreme job. Be #@$^%& if winning trophies or having dudes who know nothing about toranas "liking" your car means anything. Torana guys love Brads car. That speaks volumes to me.

Really, you need trophies to validate your car?

Trophies are a bit like chook raffles, there is seldom rhyme or reason as to who gets em, although some resort to hounding the shit out of the organisers.

I'm like LS1, I'll take my Torries any way they come: grilled, fried, roasted or flambeed.

Many thanks to Brad for his hospitality and allowing me to get up close and personal with his magnificent SL/R 5000.

I'm confident his LH would win trophies if he was to show it. His attention to detail is amazing and after drooling over the car I'm kinda glad to see a genuine example restored as close to factory spec as possible instead of being kitted out with the seemingly obligatory L34 flares and wide wheels.

Many thanks Brad, it was great to meet you (and Rannay) and the Great Northern was crisp, cold and greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Dave.

All I was implying was this car was on the market for a more then resonable price yet it didn't sell.if you compare to what is selling arond the county with flares, drop tank, chev bla bla bla it appears alot of people dont apprecriate the original examples. Forum members and enthusiasts understand the effort and money that has gone into this car, but your average person with money and no real passion do not notice the detail

Bullsh!t Dave, this car is nothing like it came from factory!

Where is the bonnet spear?

Lol.....just kidding Brad.

Don't sell it for $38k, you'll never forgive yourself.

Its a bad time to sell anyway, might pay to wait 12 months and see where we're at.

At 38k people would be lining up. Still think it is a 50k+ car even in today's market.  I think your location is your biggest hurdle in selling it.

The car was sent to City Motors Toowoomba Dec 1975 so I guess that's where it was sold from. I wanted to put this decal down the bottom of the screen but the pilkongton etch would have spoilt it. Once again, just a guess on the decal and position.....

F8AB5347-6C66-4FEA-877F-CE0F30715FAD-210

^^^^^^^

Bit of a mistake here. City Motors is incorrect.

The car was actually sold from Holden City Auto Sales Toowoomba.

Ive been searching for the correct dealer decal.

A kind forum member just supplied me with an image of this one:

City%20Auto%20Sales_zpsfncroxf6.jpg

But then I also found this one on the Graffixunlimited website. Not sure which is correct for the 1975 era???

I don't know the answer, but the HQ one looks better. The little cartoon cars in the bottom one sort of look like coupes as well though. Is the car on the right hand side in the showroom a people mover?

Backed the car out of the garage for the first time since December 2015. Gave it a wash then stuck it straight back in the garage.
