My little guy just turned three.
It's a hell of a ride, but it's the most rewarding thing I've ever done

We have a lot of problems with mould up here in the Farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr North.
Even though I keep both cars in Carcoons, which are supposed to prevent mould etc by providing air flow. The cars still suffer from mould.
Ive just bought a pair of dehumidifiers for both cars. They have a 2.2L collection chamber and also the ability to connect a drain pipe. It has a digital temp and humidity display and shows about 50-55% humidity.
Just out of curiosity I left the chamber fitted to see how much water it would collect.
Since Sunday (6 days) Ive collected about 1.5L of water... Crazy.... Ive now hooked up the drain pipe so it will just continuously drain.
I do wonder though, will having this dehumidifier inside the Carcoon be bad for the rubbers on the car?????????

Send your Torana down here, the driest state in the driest continent, problem solved
I could do with that water you've collected too while your at it

Well Brad, everybody in here knows the effort you put in to get this car 100% correct. I guess the ultimate test is that by now it should have a torn right hand bolster of the driver's seat, a leaky master cylinder, cracked boot spoiler at the keyhole and a boot full of dust.

Good old humidity. when i was up North we had some airconditioners placed into school. 6 airco units across two classrooms were pulling about 5 litres per minute on startup. We filled up a bucket or two before being plumbed into stormwater. Something for you to ponder.....What temp does your shed get to. I see some sarking but not insulation on the sides.... My theory is 25 degrees with 48% humidity is very livable for humans and maybe cars as well. Otherwise dabbing a diluted vinegar water mixture on leathers/ vinyls etc helps resist the mould.

Trying to achieve 25 deg is impossible without air con. You just can’t escape mould up here. But these dehumidifiers have been doing a good job thus far. Bit expensive to run 24/7 though. They chew 85 watts each. Bout 4kw each day.

Have you flared it yet Brad? You know it's not a genuine SL/R 5000 without flares right?

Thread revival! hahahahha
I was blind drunk the other arvy having some thoughts..... Imagining the huge sums of money I could achieve by offloading the car to one of those Raffle Company after seeing that yellow bodge up sell for $183k....
Would it look funny with flares and 13in wheels?

Havnt really got much to update on... Bought some ebay valve stem caps.... Not sure how I feel about going away from original....
Have been trying to get the new shed insulated and more GPO's lights etc done... But time just isnt on my side anymore... I can see why so many peoples projects stall as they get older and life gets in the way...

Its a very recent acquisition mate. The paint/panel was done at a local shop up here. Its not as good as my red car but its good enough for a street car which this will be. No living in bubbles for this one.
Its interesting looking at the details of the car, LH L31 SL/R 5000 in Tuxedo black seems to be a fairly rare thing, and the Chamois interior with the Chevron Cloth inserts in the seats is also another rarity. The car will be going back to a stock appearance.
I had a read through your resto page, looks like your hookin in quite well! Good to see!
Bahahahahahahaha Dead set.......

A small off road caravan will be on our shopping list soon. I haven't really taken the Jayco's seriously enough to look at them as I need enough water and power to go off grid for at least three weeks at a time.
Have you been for a trip in that one yet Brad?
