Great stories!
I have a good one from only a week after buying my Hatch 7 years ago - it was my 1st V8 and I was only 19 at that stage.
I took off a pretty quick from the lights and had the blue and red lights flashing up behind me only a few hundred metres up ther road. The police were hiding up a driveway just past the lights as this was a regular spot for people to race from. I was the only car so they knew I wasn't racing but they asked why I changed gears to create smoke when I hit 2nd. While being very polite, said "its an auto, I cannot help how it changes gears" while also telling them I only just bought the car and was just taking a mate for a spin. They then said they just wanted to check out my car and told me no more smoke from the tyres please and sent me on my way without any ticket. I was very happy as I thought I was going to get at least 1 nasty fine!

Played footy up here for 8 odd years and we had one of the local traffic boys on the side -- good mate of mine
After training nights the was the usual few quiet ones in the changerooms which sometimes ended up on the constabulary being called due to the noise etc -- so you can picture the scene
This cop used to have to knock off training to get to work and while you were driving home afterwards (usualy round 10 o clock) had a habit of hiding then pulling out once you have passed with his lights off -- catch up and when he knew he hadn't been spotted hit the lot, headlights and spotties ,rooflights and siren -- scare the bloody shisen out of you.
Worst part was he got me more than a couple of times
BUT
Seen the same bloke getting his own back at a party one time
Usual thing round the back with the boys getting on it one arvo and Mr cop comes swaggering round the corner with all the battle regailia on including 6 shooter and extra special industrial streangth mace with complimentary batton (this was met by much piss taking and joviality)
Somewhere along the line after it had all settled down and said cop was enjoying a nice cold can of coke (more piss taking) someone had managed to lift the patrol car keys and the first we knew of it was all hell broke loose out the front of the house to which we all ran out (including said cop) to find the full forward inside the car with siren and lights going putting pretty red stickers on the inside of the windscreen (doors locked)
After much begging and pleading which included threats and i'm sure he would have thought about shooting him, he managed to get him to shut it all off and get out -- this was only after he made him promise in front of us that he would not get locked up or handcuffed in the very least.
