Would love to mate, that's what I would love to be able to do. Haven't seen that before though, you built that yourself?
Unfortunately the rules of IP won't let me modify that from standard. Will have a look again as it's been a while since I looked at that part of the rules.

Yes do it on most of the modified hatch's. Looking at the grandma tyres they stick you with it probably is against the rules, heaven help something that makes a race car get around the track faster. ...... LOL

MHDT never worried about rules (at least till Harry joined Cams and spilled the beans on what he illegally had done) ...... LOL

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

PS: Just thinking you will be busy picking up and dropping off passengers in that racing taxi so I guess fast isn't needed ??  Must be at least 2 taxi ranks around the Barbs track so lots of stop starts.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Don't forget to put a holder on the dash for your drivers photo id card

Craig as you are doing the third link rather than me attempt to explain here are some threads I thought might help with your understanding of weight transfer. This especially true of the torana with its poor roll centres, excessive weight over the front and why people throw in massive heavy rate front springs to stop the front-end from wanting to hit the outside wall. It's also why std they limited suspension travel because of the poor geometry and mounting positioning.

Another view on anti-squat. Same information just stated slightly different.

Anti-squat is a measure of how much of the wt being transfered during acceleration is supported by the suspension linkages. The rest is supported by the springs.
Ie if you have 50 percent anti-squat your linkages will support 50 percent of the wt being transfered and 50 percent is being supported by the rear springs.

The rear suspension inputs a force at the SVIC. anything less than 100 percent the linkages are only able to hold up the that percentage and the springs the rest. When it is over a hundred percent the linkages are able to input enough force to actually over come the wt transfer.
IE at a 110 percent the suspension inputs 10percent more force than what is being transfered during acceleration resulting in the rearend of the car lift.

Also keep this in mind. The higher the anti-squat the quicker the force is supplied to the rear tires. This can in some situations cause the car to get upset. Because tires are basically rubber springs (think basketball) the FASTER they are slammed into the ground the more they will rebound. When this happens the tires will lose traction.
So remember you need to pay attention to the rate of force being applied not just the magnatude.

Then again some decent stuff over at Jamaica.

Now Craig with all that sweating remember to put the cherry scent in that taxi so you get the old cherry BO happening.

Some of those article are pretty detailed on weight transfer and COG stuff. Very interesting to read it. To be honest I don't know enough to make good sense of it in a practical way, but the explanations were pretty good.

You know that I might as well put a sticker on the car when its done in tribute to all Taxi's, any one got a good design I could use??

Cheers Dave, will look forward to catching you sometime this week. I have sent the rims to the machinist to get the centers bored out to suit the hub on the diff, should be ready this week as well.

Craig it's not that heavy its just math and logic. For the best visual representation watch the tin tops launch at the drags in slow motion.  Of course that's F/R weight transfer set-up for no corners. All things being equal whatever form of racing such tuning flexibility can be the difference between winning or loosing.

What about the prices on the door like most taxis have.

Just with the price of flagfall and price per k.

Subtle but obvious to anyone who gets the joke.

If you want to be less subtle you could put the swan taxis strip up the middle like they all have. Never know, they may sponsor you lol.

Or put one of these on the dash

Those wheels look pretty good on the car by the way.

Loving the build so far.

Good stuff, I will be out there for a look. I saw it at the last twilight meet at Barbs, but it wasn't running. I heard it went for a short spin earlier in the day.

You going??

Yes Dave, its a fuel cell. It's FIA approved. It does need an alloy or Sheetmetal box for it to sit in though, can't mount it the way it is.

Yeah they look pretty purposeful don't they. ATL have a massive range of fuel cells.

Check it out, if you are after a good FIA approved item, can't go past these.
