Plenty of places here that sell flanges too...When I made mine,I had just bought a set of new headers and chopped them all up and bought a pile of extra bends, etc and went too it, lol

Rattlings Racing isn't it???
Or is that Rubbings Racing...
I'm confused.......
Not sure how else I could have done it? I know that my feet will get hot!! Might have to do a bit of shielding.

Nice work, it was always going to be a pain getting the pipes through.... I ended up with tri-y as well, but with very short primary pipes, yours look much better.

By the way, I cant make out from the pic, but you can now solid mount the subframe to the body shell - regs update here:

http://www.ipraforum...php?f=2&t=10298

check point 9.3 -

Makes a big difference to the stiffness of the body - also might help because you have your pipes running so close to that outrigger bush, it would probably melt!

Your white floors bother me...they are too clean every time I look at the pics, ha ha.. :D

(Pipes are coming along..I know what a pain it was when I built mine as well!)

Cheers for that Sam, will replace the bush with a solid bush. Any other things you spot??
I figure I better get the tail shaft in before fabrication of the X merge in the pipes, don't need it to clash!

I guess you could day I haven't lost my nuts.....

For some odd reason that comment reminded me of the AC/DC song Big Balls... bahahaha, funny song that one.

Hahaha....just one of those odd things I happened to notice. :)

Oh, and while you are going along, don't forget to try plug wires on each plug to make sure the pipes are not going to be in the way, same for getting a spark plug socket on each one as well..don't want to find out after the fact it's super hard to get to them because of the way the pipe happened to route...

I was gonna mention earlier that you'd better remember the bungs for the O2 sensors as well... but I figured you probably had it under control.

Which got me thinking, I wonder if the ECU treats each bank as a separate entity AF ratio-wise, or whether it averages both O2 sensors and makes adjustments to the AF ratio for the motor as a whole?

And what about the Commodore LS engines that have four O2 sensors, two in each bank, one before the catalytic converter and one after, how does that work?

Thanks Andrew, that just made me think! Will ask the bloke doing the motec engine management what he needs.
There are a crap load of sensors on the engine, to be honest I didn't think of what was needed on an exhaust system.

Cheers mate,

I had deleted my rear sensors and had them tuned out. The front ones (from what I gathered) are what are needed for the engine to tune itself as it runs..the rear ones seemed to mainly be to tell it how the cats are working. (which everyone leaves off when doing engine swaps anyways)

I was thinking about the quad sensor setup and I wonder if they're required for the newer ethanol "Flex-Fuel" engines ( L77 / L99 ), apparently they're supposed to have "extra sensors in the engine to enable them to be able to detect how much ethanol is in the petrol mix"?

Either way it's irrelevant here, I'm sure the second set of O2 sensors will only serve some emissions requirement and aren't required as Jeff said.

My truck (2011 Chevy that is a flex fuel model) uses a sensor in the fuel line to detect if running on E85.. (along with all the other various sensors telling the computer of course as well, knock sensors, o2's, etc I'm sure) but the fuel sensor uses light I believe to detect the amount of ethonal in the fuel...

Nice, lots of patience needed for that.

For those other comments the rear o2 sensors, most don't control fuel from rear o2 but on some cars they do control fuel trim of the engine.

That ethanol sensor is a standard GM part, a number of aftermarket computers are comparable to use it so you can tune to run ethanol and unleaded but does require about double the amount of dyno time to tune for both fuels.

Rear O2 sensors came in around Cat3 spec

You definitely won't need them on a racecar... don't even have to run cats do you ?

How good is that, great news. Bad part is that you'll be out there before me, LOL.
When you head out for an IP meeting, let me know.
