Rear O2 sensors came in around Cat3 spec
You definitely won't need them on a racecar... don't even have to run cats do you ?

Don't need cats.
Pick up more parts for the exhaust on Monday.
Other than Wilkos you mentioned in a PM, you know anyone to look at my steering?

No cats Datto for racing😊, guess the powers at be haven't figured that out yet.
Will do craig, already made couple of changes to meet circuit regs, when the motor is back in, will get the car audited.
The ute I play with is planing on been out there too.
So more incentive for yours to be out there.
They will have someone looking after driving standards also to stop intentional buff and barge.

Different path on the passenger side, bit easier with nothing in the way.

Looks good, but I'd highly recommend ditching those flanges and getting some 3 bolt ones if you can.

Love the look of the gearbox, pure function

Yep, three bolt is far better.

Or i noticed summit now sells V band kits for about the same price as two three bolt flanges, a gasket and bolts now.

If i was going to make another exhaust system i would definitely use these:

http://www.summitrac.../parts/vpe-1491

Probably not so critical where you have them there, but if you put another lfange before the diff, they would be very handy, as you can rotate the two rear tailpipes slightly once its all said and done to help fit them properly :D

Cheers.

V bands are amazing! 3 bolt flanges take up too much space.

And in my experience when making up mandrel bent systems, no matter how good it sits when you tack it up it always needs a slight tweak left or right once welded out, V bands will allow you to do this, 2 bolt or 3 bolt wont.

Chers.

Exhaust is looking good!

Those V-band clamps are a pretty cool way to go, but I just used similar 2 bolt flanges on mine as well and seems to work fine.

(PS. I still think the white floor looks too clean..lol)

Thanks for the heads up on the 3 bolt flange 76lx. Now that I have the flange and Jeff is using them, will stick with it for the moment. Money spent else where.
Cheers for that though.

Tacked the merge pipe in.

This is the perf pipe I rolled up out of flat sheet which will be the start of the muffler. Hotdog style muffler. Any ideas on the insulation to use?? Going with steel wool at this point.

Might be better using fibreglass in the muffler rather than steel wool.

As it is going to spend most of its time going hard there may be enough heat and flame to ignite the steel wool.

If you dont believe it burns grab a bit and put a lighter to it. Be ready to drop it quickly.

I use fibreglass insulation all the time at work, would you use rockwool type or duct wrap style insulation?

Stainless steel wool not steel wool, as stated it will burn & rust in a very short space of time.

Work machines make it a bit easier to cut parts. Programmed that last night and cut it this morning.
