Hi Alf, won't be putting a passenger seat in so you might just have to have a drive of it!! Might be a while before that happens. I want to finish it before I have a head full of grey hair.Looks like it's taking shape Eyepeeler, love to go for a lap on the track with you one day so you better put another seat in....;-)
Looks good mate.

I haven't started to service the column yet. The plan is to keep going on the body work at the moment. Chat to you about the column later. I bought the eyelets today for the harness, I will have a look at the lap belts and where to put the eyelet so I can get the harness back to you. Get that done some time in the next 2weeks.

slowly slowly, looking good mate
Cheers Mark. I'm hearing ya on both slowly slowly fronts.
1- cant go fast with welding and grinding, gotta watch the heat
2- The whole project is a bit slowly slowly. Been fun getting back into it though.

This is what I started with

First fit up with out cutting anything from the panel.

Second fit up, with the panel now cut, looking better

Third fit up, much happier with the way that looks. I will tack it in tomorrow for a look.

I had a look at the left rear quarter this arvo. Now this will be a challenge for me, areas that are not flat!! I have got to the stage where I am happy with the shape. Not sure what I will do in the wheel arch, I think I might have to go over some of Dirtbags posts to see how he went about it, why re-invent the wheel. I think fitting flares will help my cause.......

even though it doesn't need it
keep up the good work
hope i see you at the gm day!

Good work there Mr peeler!

That is some nice fabrication mate. Beautiful.
Thanks Damo and Liam, I appreciate the comments. Having never done rust repair it's nice to know that people think what I have done is ok.
I tacked that bit in tonight using 0.6 mig wire instead of 0.9 which I used in the cage and first rust reapairs. The 0.6 wire is much more user friendly with body panels.
Having tacked it in I just wanted to see how the Flare would fit.

Bit of a difference to my SL/R

Nothing unusual so I gather when fitting Flares!!!

Will be great to see another Torana in IPRA!
Cheers Mick, might be a while before I hit the track. I agree though, the more Torana's the better.
How is yours going?

Hey Dave, yeah I have thought of doing it that way or I might cut a strip out the right width and weld both sides. Many different ways to do the same thing.
Cheers,
CRAIG aka Al aka eyepeeler who am I again????????? LOL

Hey Steve, you'll need the nutsert kit back !
If you are like me you'll open the toolshed door and spend 2 hours looking for it .
