The foam is put into fuel tanks to reduce fuel surge. It is a similar to putting in baffles in a fuel tank to control fuel surge.

Got some more work done tonight. Engine is back out, painted the headers in heat paint.

I am going to wrap them with that heat shield stuff.

Got to get 3 scavenge pipes from the sump connections in the background to the pump. Good luck Craig. Head scratching to follow.

Whilst the engine is out I plan to check and tighten all nuts and bolts before putting the engine back in. Don't want to take it out again if I have to.

Does the pump need to move to adjust the belt tension?

If not it'd be heaps easier to run three hard lines through there than braided line.

Cheers Marcus, that's all I can do is keep pushing forward.

Found a pretty stupid fcuk up today. The mount for the 3rd link under the diff is 12mm to low. Will have to fix that.

I have considered that and still looking at that option. It's tight as a nuns proverbial.

Holley fuel rails. Nice bit of bling and better fuel delivery.

Just a smidge over 14 litres but I can be more accurate if you give me more dimensions...

EDIT:

BTW, that's a little over 11 kgs of oil (not counting the tank), are you sure you want that much weight that far forward over the front end?

Cool looking tank! And I will guess at 9.8 or 11.3 quarts. (I don't believe in metric guesses, lol)

Will it get any sort of baffles in it, or is that not needed ?

Hey Jeff, yep will fix in baffles in. Is 9.8 quarts close to 12 litres??

Just a smidge over 14 litres but I can be more accurate if you give me more dimensions...

Only 6-7 litres will be in the tank. I think it would go bloody close yo 14 litres if I filled it to the top. Good guess with the calculator, LOL.

4.3 flagons.

I wonder if engines like Red Wine???

It comes down to cost at the minute. To run 2 lines to the back is more expensive than up front. Weight distribution is not as good but the plan is to have it down back in time. I have a shoe string budget to finish this thing, better to be on track than waiting for more money in parts building the thing.

(We call them laces in America...but you guys on the metric system and all, who knows... :D)

Bit over 12, so I was kinda sorta close in a way, lol.

And good deal on the baffles, figured you might to help minimize potential slosh a bit. Like trap doors and other baffles on some oil pans. (even though you don't worry about it sloshing up towards the crank and creating windage or anything..)
