How this going Craig?
It's coming along pretty well now Sam.
I ended up buying a Petterson oil tank to put in the rear. US eBay second hand unit.
All the plumbing is done. Just need to test it for leaks.
Maybe 2-3 weeks till I get to fire it up?
Will post some pics soon.

Yeah its a slow process, glad to hear you are still chugging away - sounds like there is light at the end of the tunnel!

I had a change in direction as said above and I bought a Petterson dry sump oil tank off eBay in the US.
I have done all the plumbing now and have spanner checked all joints. Just need to fill it up with oil and test for leaks.

I have also started to bleed the brakes and clutch.
Not much to do to get the engine running now. The list for CAMS is still longer for the car to be ready for racing.

Cheers John, appreciate you taking 4 1/2 hours read it all. That's a mammoth effort. Must admit it been a good journey with lots of fun and good banter along the way. It's a shame some of the contributors have dropped off the forum radar. Non the less, it's been fun. I hope tthe driving side of it will be more so.Ive just discovered this thread and it is well worth the 4 1/2 hour read.I really admire your persistence and the ability to just get it done.Hope all goes well at scrutineering for you. They certainly cant knock you back for attention to detail. After seeing this I will never winge about working on my toranas again. Cheers Cob and good luck.
Cheers Sam. The light at the end of the tunnel is certainly shining brighter than it ever has. I hope to have a CAMS log book inspection done within 2 weeks. Major things to install are the harness, window net, safety cage drawings and paperwork, tow points front and rear, and the all important stickers for the battery, isolation kill switch etc.Yeah its a slow process, glad to hear you are still chugging away - sounds like there is light at the end of the tunnel!
Great stuff !
Thanks Jeff and Brendan.Awesome

Hey did you put an EOI for the Nationals this year ?
No Chris, I didn't. I would love to take to PI one day though, it's a bucket list track for sure.
At this stage it's just getting it on track and learning the car here first.

Cheers Daryl, the aluminium welding was something new to me. Took a bit to get it going ok.Looking great craig wish i had your welding skills mate you really have done an outstanding job on this car so far can't wait to see the finished product....
You're on Chris, I'll be in that for sure.Yep understandable I just wanna see it out on the track ! I believe WA hold the Nationals maybe next year ? I definitely want to see it by then. Anyway hope all keeps going well, I'm looking forward to having a race with you once it's completed. Keep at it
Yeah I believe WA has got the Nationals next year, that would be on my radar for sure. Should have the car well and truly up to speed by then.
I turned the fuel pumps on after work tonight. Bit embarrassing, 2 joints were not tight, fuel went everywhere.
All tight now and all I can spot now it a damp spot on the drivers side fuel rail at the hose joint.
Will turn it on again tomorrow to sort out the leak.

It's a Motec key pad. It performs all the functions I need from the car, like the lights, indicators, starter motor etc. I have 2 spare spots for any other function I might add to the car, such as driving lights for instance.
