Well out comes the -12 supply pipe and I have ordered pipe and fitting for -16.
I couldn't get a -10 to -16 port adaptor as the pump has a female -10 thread.
I am going for -10 to -12 port adaptor, -12 F & F low profile 90, -12 to -16 reducing Union to a -16 hose end and hose to the tank.
Couldn't find a -10 to -16 port adaptor in the Earls catalogue.

Maybe you can recycle all the fittings and lines for you trans cooler?

Then do yourself a favour when cutting the tails off the cable ties.

Use a Stanley knife and cut them flush.

Saves getting opened up by sharp ends in mysterious places.

After spending Tuesday up to my shoulder in a Cat loader transmission bay, I can vouch for this.

Spot on, that's what I'm going to do.
I would only have used -10 on the oil cooler but have ordered a 13 row cooler with -12 connections so I can re use that stuff
The -16 items are ordered and should be in on Wednesday. I have booked it in with TuneCorp to fire it up on Friday afternoon.

Cable ties are good for tying cables back and scratching arms!!
How's it going Shiney? Should catch up soon.

This morning I re ran the lead to the starter motor under the bell housing instead of over it. This way it keeps it away from the exhaust headers.
I gave it a wash as well, it was filthy.

go bro go - your nearly there.

actually you are there and  at the start of the beginning of the next adventure of tunning the car on the track.

G

nice work man - heaps of people fall over on a standard grandpa spec  resto and never finish let alone a full race car build which involves technical and mechanical changes to the standard car.

Thanks Grant, it really feels like Friday will be the start of the new beginning. The -16 hose and fitting might arrive tomorrow night or Thursday morning, either way I have to get it by the end of play Thursday night as Friday I won't have a chance. It's game on in getting the engine doing.

Cheers Craig, it was good to get it cleaned up. The body is really good from a far but far from good, pictures don't show the bad. All the work and energy has been put into the driveline and roll cage work.

Needs some race livery Craig Still looks cool though

Not sure what, if anything, to put on the car Gene?

Really good seeing it out in the sunshine !
(Well...under the clouds at least, lol)

Not having the sun out hides the the bad spots on the body, lol.
A bit of sun would be good though Jeff, I'm sick of this winter weather, bring on summer.

Appreciate that Steve, it's one of the most satisfying parts of it, I have built most of it myself.
It's just taken a lot longer than I first thought when I started it.

Isn't that why they make sponsor stickers?

Sponsors??? Other than well placed category sponsor stickers, I may as well plaster my own name across the car, as I'm the sponsor, lol.
Yeah I have thought of doing just that, a bit of vinyl to cover up.

I got the -16 hose up to the pump. I could not run the hose the same way as the -12, no room to fit such a large hose.
Ended up having to get a steel elbow with sealing o ring and back nut.
Even a low profile 90 degree hose end was to big.

A bit too low I think.

I did this just getting it out of the shed on a small ramp.
I will end remaking them I think. Definitely want to keep the outlet size what ever the case.

That's a big bit of hose!

It is fair bit different that's for sure.

I finished off the oil lines and spun the oil pump up with a drill to get oil through the lines and motor.

Might be a good idea. Especially as I will end up replacing this running in oil in the short term.
