Were retractable front belts standard fitment on 75 LH SLR 5000?

Do these look factory?

Ok thanks for that. I noticed these belts do not have GM on them anywhere? Would they be aftermarket?

Thats a pretty cheap shot honestly coming from Admin. I am not new to Cars, however I am very new to Holdens. I did not pull this car apart into 1000 un-marked pieces. So I will be asking questions for a while to come, as I am not 100% of what is what.. I was under the impression these forums were about helping other car enthusiasts?

My point was... how will you find all your answers if you ask 23 different questions in differnt threads... some related

And admin or not... opinions are arseholes...I can have one too
If you tried to keep things together they might be easier to find when you need to refer back to them (such as a members projects thread)

As for your belts.. .I can take pics of both my 74 sedan and 76 LX hatch to see how different they are from yours on the weekend if need be

In my dealings with other car forums, it was preferred to place relevant questions into the correct forum topic sub heading. That way for future members, if they are looking through that they may just find the answer they are looking for.

It's members that make forums what they are. By me asking questions it also brings out answers which can help all members now and future.

Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the offer of photos.

Now now kiddies, lets play nicely in the sandbox.

Hanra, i think whet Datto was trying to suggest was, you maybe start a thread in the projects section to keep all your questions and answers in one place so it would be easier for you find them when need be seeing as you plan on asking alot of questions about your parts box  .

I will be in the same boat one day, i pulled the dash out of the bosses (wife) torana without labeling everything as it was only going to be for a short while,i'm just lucky i have another torry here with the dash in tact (at the moment).

And remember boys and girls, emoticons will make a big difference to your answer.

Point taken. However I do worry that by putting all my questions into just one thread then it may not get the traffic that it could have if it was in the relevant Sub Topic? Its quite easy for me to use the search function when looking for my posts. I dont want to tread on anyones toes, Im not here to stir trouble. I know full well the benefit this specialized forums bring to us car enthusiasts.

I agree, what is the point of having sub topics if you are not going to use them?

It would appear your belts are aftermarket, they should have a GM logo.

Dont worry about it. People have their cranky pants on lately and this forum has gone from being supportive about builds and offering help to just nit picking and shit talking.

Make as many threads about as many things as you want if you cant find what you are looking for cause its been buried for several years. Someone helpful will come and contribute and answer your question and it will then be at the top of the list so others can find it too.

In relation to your question, yes 75 LH had retractable seat belts but those do not look like originals. I may be mistaken though I believe these were what the originals looked like:

And also you should make a build thread with lots of pictures! Cause everyone like pictures!

Don't get me wrong i'm all for questions and lots of them, it helps us, the not so experienced to learn and as far as a new thread for every question, thats why we have the Holden Tech section with all it's sub-sections.

Just had a look at Alex's car and he has the Holden ones in it and they look the same as the Cooldrive fittings for the LH. As far as the belts you have, they could be after market like the klippen ones for example.

I'm 99% sure the first 74's came out NON retractable and late 74- early 75 came with the retractable. Mine is a 74 with silver metal buckles and a Holden emblem on the button release.
