ive been looking at what to do for new intrument cluster/dash for LX, and seeing marshalllx build , i am going to give at making one myself too.
And in all honesty ive never done any fibreglassing b4 , so apart from you tube , id thought id give all a shout and get everyones secrets , hints and tips.......
so if you have do's and donts , chuck it down...............

just really basic steps im after, tips like dont play with it to much .....

Mix small batches
2% catalyst... max... or it goes off too gast
Use 400 gram matting
Buy a few good brushes and a couple of fibreglass rollers (grooved)
Lots of acetone for cleanup
Watch some youtube
Where in WOz are you ?

2% catalyst... max... or it goes off too gast
Use 400 gram matting
Buy a few good brushes and a couple of fibreglass rollers (grooved)
Lots of acetone for cleanup
Watch some youtube

Can't exactly pop round and drink your beer while I watch you get covered in goop now can I
I can take a pic or 2 of my rollers.. .and tell you where to get them
And the matting etc if you don't have a local shop
Then you can see what gear I prefer to use

Page 6 onwards is what your after, i personaly like bristle rollers but ring rollers are easyier to clean. Use them for the large areas then use a smaller roller like the economy bar roller 60/10 for the corners.

I prefer mine less hairy
But it all depends on what your actually making

they have just been using brushes and the sheets........... also parts they use bog aswell..........

To get the smooth finish , no doubt you give it a sand ??? do you go back over with anything after sanding?
and when painting , whats the best primer to use.......... a primer /fill ............

The glass layer is the underside... as in your doing it in a mold
If your doing it the other way... then yes... lots of bog and sanding

i was planning on cutting some extra sorrounds/donuts and then raise it all up to those points..............
