I'am can't wait to get to the rta today and pay the rego.
Has been 10 years in the makeing, and to be up front and honest it's well worth the wait.

Well took the car for a drive this arvo to put some good juice in it and was amazied at how many people gave me the thumbs up and even stoped to see me drive past them and race back up beside me and beep and wave to say they liked the car.
Was also amased that 60 lt of fuel only gave me just over half a tank too.

Thanks for the comments.
Was looking under the car last knight checking how things where and noticed that the aftermarket new ball joints (top) bolts had come louse and out of the 8 bolts in total had lost 2 nuts and spring washers.???
Has anyone else had this problem???
Also the 2 rubbers that go between the chassie rail and the x'member had destroyed them self.???
I retighterned the bolts and replaced the rubbers so i could take the car down today for a wheel alinement.
Will be watching them closely as i don't want any miss haps.

Maybe invest in some Nyloc nuts if it becomes an issue?

Well thought i would update what the car ended up with after i started with a plan of attack and had a few miss haps along the way but you get that with all builds.

Car Lc GTR 1970
Paint is factory cameo gold met with LJ xu1 black outs and GTR-XU1 stickers fitted.(it's how i like it)
Engine single turbo RB25 NEO from 2003 skyline
stage 1 cams, head ported,
free flowing 3" exhaust with 100 cel cat and hi flow mufler
aftermarket intercooler rated for 550-600hp
bottom end std boost uped to 10psi for street and 12psi for track
Good for approxly 350-400 @ wheels
Engine x-member modified to suit and all new rubbers and joint fitted
Steering rack rebuilt
Gear box is std 5 speed turbo box from skyline
Gear box x-member custum made to alow exhaust to sit up higher
tail shaft 3" thick wall with v8 uni's
diff is a 10 bolt salisbury diff 3.36lsd VN commodore axles cut down and resplined
Brakes are WB kingswood front and VR commodore rear
XU1 brake booster and Kingswood master cylnder disk disk
Rear seat removed and sound system. 2x 6x9 200w sony explode speakers and a 600w sub
250amp kenwood amp just for the sub
kenwood CD head unit
dash changed to LJ Personal thing just like it more then LC. GTR dash facer retained and speco gages fitted.
seats are after market spors raceing seats rta aproved
Fuel tank is custom mad alloy holds approxly 90lt
fuel system consist of holly blue pump and reg set at 11lt per hour for lift pump.
bosh 044 main pump with 2lt swurl/surge tank
Drift fuel reg set at 40 psi riseing rate for turbo engine
Roll cage is custom made 8 point and is full welded and bolted to the car.
Rails have been stich welded and reinforced for extra power.
uper diff control arms are boxed for extra strength and will be doing the same to the lowers soon.
shocks are std torana re built/ ustom made to my spec's and are quite stiff
springs are lovels in the front and kings in the rear.
car corners very well and is like it is on rails when turning corners.
Wheels are currently commodore pursuit rims 15x6 with 185 50 15 front and 195 50 15 rear. (they look like 13" wheels)
currently looking at putting 17x8.5 rears and 17x7.5 front, just tring to get the off set i'm happy with.

Now for the big question how much.
Car would have to owe me around the 30k over the last 10 years so works out at $3000 per year or $57.7 per week for 10 years.
So it's all done and dusted with mod plates and rego

TIME FOR CRUZIN

Thanks all and hope you have enjoyed the read and photos of the build.
Dave

Nice build Dave. You should proud. Hopefully now you can actually drive it and enjoy all of your hard work.

I'm turbo charging my LC and I'm really interested in your intercooler setup. I have a few questions for you.
  • What size is the intercooler core?
  • What size is the cooler including the tanks?
  • How did you mount it?
  • Did you need to modify the bonnet catch or the upright support under the bonnet catch plate?

Cheers,

Brett.
