I need a close pic of the original painting of the black out for a LC GTR 70,
did a search here and on net and there are variations in the way it has been done, also no real close ups.
the one I am using didn't come from a GTR so is unpainted mesh
thanks

thank you,
that is excellent.
the main problem I had was the unpainted horizontal strips, polished metal but they stand out well

I can also confirm the pic is correct.

My LC GTR is the same. Also take note of the headlight surrounds as well and how they are 'finished' in line with the grill.

yeah I 3rd that...and make sure the headlight surrounds have the horizontal lines matching up with the grill as said above...otherwise it looks odd.

yes I had noticed the light surrounds match up, hadn't seen it before though on cars or pics, not done right or I didn't look right

Stupid question.... Why are some grills painted black with the body colour through the center (as above) and others are all chrome? Is this a year model thing? As I've got a 2/71 gtr and I want to get the grill right!

From factory all LC GTR & XU1 grilles painted as per above pic.

LC 6cyl Torana S & SL had chrome look grille with body colour stripe on horizontal centre bar.

Many replacement grilles probably never got painted or restorers choice to not paint. Some people like the all chrome look, that's why many headlight bezels are also not painted black.
