I need some help with painting acrylic. I have painted some part ok but tonight I painted my front gard Barbados green and clear over the top. My shed is not ventilated very well and it was only 12 degrees. The end result was a very smoky white, flat Barbados green.
Was this the cool air or something else ?
Will this buff out or not ?
Thanks

12 degrees is way to cold to be painting without heat lamps or a booth

Worse case you could rub back the whole car and blow another coat or two over the whole car...
Got any pics?

Oh and if your forced to paint in cold temps you can use fast drying thinners so it drys before it gets a chance to flower (blush, whatever you wanna call it)

The only issue is if the basecoat blushed before you cleared it. Retarder will only cure the top layer of paint.

Hiya. If the paint has just "blushed" due to cold air, you can just spray retarder thinners straight over it and it will vanish before your eyes. Seriously. Just put some in the gun and give it a light spray.

Colorcoat with acrylic Tim, Basecoat is for 2k
Yep try as above.....But i think some more info is required....
Cheers.

I have not pained whole car with this problem, just LH front guard last night.
Had a look this morning and smoky white was not as bad but still very flat looking
Green is Dupont Lucite 400
Clear is Dupont 380s
Thinner is Duxone 1K multi acrylic thinner 8210080
I think I will rub back and paint again on a hotter day ?
Thanks

Seeing though you have nothing to loose, give it a quick clean up with prepsol then hit it with strait thinners out of the gun, see if it makes a difference.
Guessing it was all to do with your temp though.
Cheers.

All pics are of paint strait off the gun.
The LH front guard with the noses cone is the pics with the problem.
Repainted it today and all is good. It was 18 degrees

I'd nearly go out on a limb and say you get a nicer finish off the gun with acrylic than i do haha!!

Thanks Bomber if we dont get it like that dad goes off his tree and makes us sleep out side with on dinner.
Here are some other thing he made us do and we even had a hot dinner one night.
Im no painter, dont even like painting, I use way to much paint but i am learning and one day I will look back and think I did that and I like it (hope ?)
Thanks all for your help.
