Cheers dirtbag. So does your mates bonnet have a seam line around where the scoop meets the bonnet?? Did he cut it down?

76lxhatch- Im going to alliance rim repairs to get the outers changed to 16*11 inch or 16*10.5 to fit 295's plus. I wll have to change the rear axles to HQ.

Hey tyre biter- i was lost in the wilderness so I was trying find my way back to my torana mojo!
My compessor blew up (3rd cheap one) so i have saved up to by a 17 cfm 100litre unit. It rips!
I have done most of the blocking down and need to do some fibre glass work on my rear spoier and bonnet scoop. I not happy with the lines.

Post pics soon.

Dropped in the rear simmons wheels for widening. They are 4 inch rear offest and will be 6.5 front. 10.5 inches! should be able to get some fat rubber on those.

Did some work on the scoop today!
Cut it down to 4 inches and started the fibre glass work. Post pics soon.

My Torana mojo is slowly returning.

Sweet mate. Nice choice of wheels. And i like them with just the cast-finished centres like you've got in the pics.

I agree.

Bonnet scoop.

Using an old bonnet as a guide i cut the edges of the scoop to get the height to 100mm. I used the edge of the bonnet as a guide to get the shape right.

I will extend the tip to meet the nosecone.

This is how it looks on the car before exdending and moulding.

Good for street look. But also looks semi drag!

I like it!

Started by adding layers of firbre glass to the tip.

I left the end with out resin/loose so i can flip over later and better mould it to the bonnet one dry.

Placed an anvil on it for weight whilst brushing on the resin to get a better fit.

Then cut the edges off with a grinder. Sanded it flat and added a light skim of filler.

Now need to block back and smooth.

Post more picks soon.

Did some more work on the scoop today.

I am going to use L brackets to hold the bonnet scoop down.
Put a few more layers of fibreglss where the brackets will meet the scoop. Added a few more layers to the tip to make it stronger.
I will counter sink rivets at these points and then skim over the top of them with filler.

Hey mate nice job you've done on the reverse scoop, and I love the look of it.

Just looking at it though, will the back end of it definitely clear the windscreen, wiper arm and plenum cover with the bonnet raised? I don't mean to sound like a smartarse but just thought I'd mention it, just in case.

The left bit of tape is around 1 1/2" high , middle bit is 1 3/4" and the right side is 2". That is to the higher side of the arm..
