My shifter is a Hurst.
Yes it is a pain on the road, but the car would be lucky to do 200km's a year on the road.
No auto is not an option, I'm a "Stick Shift Drag racer"

if you look real close you will see the bracket i made to move shift over to drivers side,extremely easy to make i just got a bit of flat bar and drilled two matching holes to hurst bracket for shifter and put it in vice and bent two sharp angles in it so it came across 3 inches to drivers side

its a Hurst indy shifter and was bolted to my toploader in an old xy.
