Gday people.

Roadknight was good enough to put us on to a company that is willing to take one off, odd shaped and general freight all around australia.

They have depots in all major capitals, and hopefully that info can be puyt into here. Apparently they are able to deal with customers like ourselves where most other frieght companies deal directly with Business.

Call Concord Park Transport. 03 93682000
They are on Dohertys Road, Laverton Nth.

If you have any other info on who to use to freight parts around, please PM me, and i'll add them here!

Cheers.
Tiny.

I contacted them and they were very helpful a while ago but dont expect anything close to xmas as they reserve most of the freight for regular account customers but I am sure they would love your business after the break.

Advertised prices are.
3Kg $15.00
5Kg $19.00
10Kg $25.00
15Kg $30.00
20Kg $35.00
Over 20kg $5.00 for every 5kg

These guys put the freight on the national bus/coach system, so they go just about everywhere. I used them to transport a complete drum kit, cymbals and all Shepperton to Cairns, when no one else would touch it.

What about bonnets and doors which are bulky?? will they pick up and deliver to your door or do you have to drop off at freight depot and pick up from the drop off depot ? cheers dazza

I can do and have done interstate door to door. Because I charge from Melb >> pick up >> drop off >> Melb, I may not be the cheapest option. Whether it weighs 1 KG or 1.1 tonne, same rate applies.

However, as I'm heading to Adelaide June 16 and Sydney in early October, cheap rates apply for those trips.

Thanks for the info. I had sold a nos nosecone to a lad in sydney for $150. The freight companies wanted $170 - $250 to freight it there! I couldn't believe it!

Very happy with vicfast. $50 flat rate for a head (25kg) from brisvegas to Orange. Most other companies wouldn't deal with me as I am not a business, or wanted $130 plus.

Just spoke to Concorde this morning regarding freight from Perth metro to Melbourne metro. Basically everything (5 parts in total) stacked on a pallet, pick up and deliver direct, $120 +GST ($132)
I need to get the pallet, I do the complete packaging. When I asked if there is any insurance offered, the reply was a flat no. Ship at your risk, they take no responsibility. Thats whaen he asked if I was a business or private, whan I said private he tried to fob me off to a furniture removalist (must look into that now).

I explained that they were recommended from this website, and my understanding based on the initial post here is that they would help out. Apparantly not.

Tiny, just thought I would add this post to reflect my dealings with them.

Cheers, Max

No Worries max! Everyone needs to know the good and bad points!
From other's experience they've been helpful, but possibly their business has changed and are no longer doing private work! I cant say.

Bit of a shame really! Transport is one of the more difficult things to organise at a decent rate!

Most places would rather load a B double with new goods for a major client than a single pallet of personal belongings. It boils down to insurance.

I am not impressed to hear that people are getting sent away from Concord Park as they not a company sender.
I will look into this and find out why.
As for the insurance side, then sorry we can't help as most general freight companies don't offer this as it is fairly expensive.

Gday Guys.

I've been PMd by a member who've used "VICFAST" to move parts around. His experience has been great judging by his posts to me, and to the best of lmy knowledge Vicfast deal with the public and not just businesses.

Give Vicfast a go.. they might be able to help!

Cheers and thanks to the member that told me about it!
