Hey Struggler,

It was made clear from the start if you play up you will escorted out of the event with NSW police. So the idiot factor was put to rest.

Well, I got 5 runs down the Airfield. My fastest speed was around 215km at 25.5sec which was fine as I was backing off before the line. I tried one run to short shift in to sixth to see if it made any difference but terminal speed was similar. But the track had no grip and was probably doing 4000rpm in third when it really hooked up. I must say the noises my car makes at 215km is unnerving. I will sort that problem out before doing those speeds again. I feel the car had a lot more speed, but I want better brakes and that driveline sorted. The brakes will be upgraded, whether it’s better pads or the 330mm HSV/Skyline setup I have been meaning to do, as they really aren't up to those speeds.

I am addicted and have informed the Adam (Organiser) I would like to attend next year.

There were 3 other Toranas; two LX race car hatches one with an LS2 and the other 308 stroker. One XU1 but it really wasn't that competitive as it had issues.
The LS2 is on you tube and he is doing 240km at the end of the straight. The car has massive brakes and 8 throttle body setup. I think its fastest speed was 246km. The other hatch I never saw what it did.
The fastest car on the day was a Victorian VL and it had a 3ltr bottom end with GTR RB26 head and 600kw. Fastest speed 296.6km and 19.?secs. only just pipping the GTR skylines.
There were heaps of different cars, my son a bee line to the Lambo and had his photo taken in the car. I could go on and on about all the different vehicles, however one thing is for sure, everyone there was after more power and speed.

This event ran well with only two cars having issues, a Walkinshaw commodore having its bonnet fly up and the organisers car dropping a valve on his LS1.

cheers

Mark

Grant there was no room in his car. You had to book a seat so the old man was left at home mowing the lawns. He hopes to get it up to 16psi boost then it should give the other turbos a run for their money. Engine has a 4 port fuel injection that sits on the standard Hi rise manifold fed by two rather large turbos that are fed via a water cooled intercooler.
Engine shot below on Dalton's Dyno (Geelong) Sorry could not find a colour pic on his face book page.

when you say categories are you open to race car replicas or an aussie or international muscle car category???

i'm generalising as to the specific categories. Because its run under CAMS, we have to put the cars in under correct "types" but how we categorise them is really up to us.
like, "fastest V8 n/a" and "fastest V8 forced induction" for example. but we are definitely open to all cars, whether they be replica's, international...etc. If we found we had several cars that would make their own category, i don't see why not.

I took the torana for a drive over for the day and saw you run....sounds great!
Also...I got interviewed by gasoline tv about my car and they did some panning shots of it too so you'll need to keep an eye out
DISCLAIMER: I was chronically hungover so im unsure of the clarity and sense of my answers...that's what ill blame anyway.
