No, if I took the raised bit's off, they are only foam, the frame would be staight across there... The extra foam bit's are glued on top...

Yes, its a different one... no matter... learn something new every day....

Thanks heaps...

the pic simon posted is the rear base.. not the rear top.. thats how it looks to me anyway...

2 types of rear seat top.. one with the dip and 1 without.. yours has the dip

When i do GTR..GTR XU1 they all have the dip for LC

Some people bring me the sl style and we have to cut and weld it so it has a dip.. hence why i said now i get it, they sent you SL without dip but infact yours has the dip so its either been modified or the have fitted a 2 door gtr top rear previously

Hi , Thanks Eric, Yes boomfunk, spot on that is the base that I have the picture of. My car is 2 door LC S,

Regards Simon

Just checked my seat is straight across, the covers I purchased were said "to fit standard S seats" so they also are to suit straight across,

Hi all..

Well, I got my front seats done... I had to re-do the passenger seat base as well so they both have fresh foam on them...

I sorted the carpet and kick panels out and all looks good...

I just gotta work on the console as I'm having problems with it clearing though the shift pattern, seat belts look good and just waiting for the back cover to come back as they have to re-make it...

So far so good...

Cheers

Hi Eric, I am in the process of getting my LC 4 door painted and your pics are inspiring.
Can't wait to get mine home in a week or so and have a paint job like yours

Hi Anthony..

Great to hear another 4 door getting the treatment... they are a unique little things...

Glad you like my little freshen up.. there is so much info here and most of all, lots of people with great know-how so be sure to bounce things of everyone if you ever get stuck on something.

Not sure about everyone else, but I love to see pics on here so be sure to upload heaps as you go along... always great to see how things are going.

What color are you doing yours and what are your plans? Any mods or upgrades, a sleeper maybe?

Thanks for your kind words and I look forward to see some pics of your old girl...

Cheers

Hi Eric,

That's the engine in my LC, before I tore the car down for respray,

Engine is

186 block
Black crank and rods
Crow 35616 cam
Small chamber head
YT Roller Rockers
Balanced
Triple 40 mm Dellortos
Exedy clutch
Aussie 4 speed close ratio 2.54 1st gear
3.90 LSD

Good power, could use larger carbs, what are your plans engine wise?

Regards Simon

Hi Eric, mine like yours will stay a stocky.
Put the 2600h motor back in after I rebuilt it. All the suspension done. New steering rack.
Painting in the original lakeside green.
I will get onto the interior next year but it is pretty good already.

I will start a thread over the weekend and send you the link

This is my LC SL back seat.

Fairly certain it is original.

Thanks Potta... yep, looks like the one I have also... your trim looks to be in good condition!! What year is yours? did it come factory with rear seat belts?

Lets hope they get the back trim this time... it will be good to get job out of the way...

It's a 70 and yeah, the trim is ok, drivers seat is cactus but backseat is ok but starting to crack along the top, hoping I can save it.

Door trims are all different colours.

Not sure about the seatbelts, but they are black and the front ones are blue so I would guess they are aftermarket.

No worries Potta... I was just curious about the belts as mine did not have any so got a set made when I got all the seat belts done....

You got some links of your handy work so far?

hahahaha.....you're funny.

I haven't done much yet, don't have a lot of time unfortunately.

Currently stripping my parts car so that I can get rid of it so that I have some room to actually work on the good car :driving:

A project thread will be forthcoming at some stage, but not much point starting one cause I'm sure bugger all will happen :P

I'll check out the seatbelts, pretty sure they will be after market because they weren't required until 72 or 73 or something?

I know my OLD LC, also a 1970 4 dr SL, had belts in it when I got it but they weren't connected at the top, I think I had to drill holes for them......long time ago now though, but they looked factory and matched the front belts.

Lots of LJ bits on that car though so could have come from a later model?

Yeah I will be getting rid of some bits soon. If there's something you need just ask, I may have It.

We should definitely hook up for a cruise when we both have running cars :-)

Hey Simon...

Just on your engine specs you put up.. You mentioned a small chamber head.. is that off another red or is it something you got done?

I have read somewhere where they bolted a 161 head on a 186 on the LC... it might have been a bulliten, I'll see if I can dig it up... wasnt sure if it was GTR or XU1.. Is that what you used and did you have it done with the bigger valves?

I have a bunch of red motors I can use... one being a 2600H engine... I have stripped down the blue motor but still a little undecided... I'll wait a bit longer before I commit at the machine shop...

Cheers
