I have only heard of these mouldings referred to as 'eyebrow' mouldings.

Also, from the unrestored SLR's that I have seen, I have seen them with their natural stainless finish and NOT black.

Just like in Rut's picture above- the yellow L34 with GML -34 plates.

Cheers

Yeah I would have imagined that the extra stainless trims would have been set aside for the upper spec models?

I am talking SL/R's and not SL/R 5000's, L34's, etc.

I hear the SL/R's had the painted black smile, yet mine has neither blackout nor trim and was made Sept '76.

 I've never heard that one.

I guess we like to relate the front end as a face somehow but then again what are eyebrows doing way down there?

Here's some more info on the 'smile'

Cheers Stephen.

Well done Brad... NOS. They will be worthy of a spot on your car, no doubt.

I just gotta hope I can safely fit all the rivets/clips that are used to hold it on...... Not looking forward to that job...

I picked up a nos set for mine as well. Don't stress ole mate as the new ones clip on fairly easy unlike the removal of the old ones.

Im still confused as to whether or not I have an early or late LH Nose cone....

Im going to steal a pic from Napes here.....

If you notice the area around his indicators, there is sheet metal between the indicator hold and where the bumper mount goes through.

Where as on my car, the space from the indicator and to where the bumper goes through is all open, there is no sheet metal to seperate the two areas....?

Posted Image

So does that mean Napes front is early LH and mine is later?

The early LH nose cones are bloody hard to find in good shape... But I do believe, yours being a 75 is correct!!!
