Ford 8" Diff

I can get my hands on a Ford 8" Diff for pretty cheap. Its an lsd and has disk brakes.. I dont know much about these and i'm just trying to find out a bit more about them..
So if you guys could give me a bit of info and opinions on them that would be good.

These diffs are called 8" Ford diffs, they are similar in appearance to a 9" but slightly smaller.
They were used in XR/XT Falcon GTs & ZA/ZB Fairlanes as well as all sorts of US Fords & Mercs.
They are around the same strength as a Chev 10-bolt as seen in HK/T/G Monaros etc, which will withstand some abuse, but not a lot. Parts are also a problem, these things haven't been made since the late sixties & some parts are getting hard to find.
You are better off with a 28 spline B-W 78 out of a Commodore, Falcon or Valiant.

I guess it depends on what cash you have or don't have, ability to do the fitting work yourself and last but not least how hard you want to cane the car with skids (burnouts) etc.
The conversion is worth thinking about IMHO.
