Hey guys I'm 15 and looking for my first car. I am very interested in lc and lj torana's. Anyway I was looking on gumtree and found this

Just wanted to know what your ideas are and what you think needs to be done to make it an everyday driver.

G/day Puds22
Personally I'd go for the Grandma car, needs some work to bring it up to scratch but it does look to be a pretty honest car and best of all it has its ID tags.

Not to say the white LC isn't a good car but who knows what is under that shiny new paint and it looks to be missing its VIN tag and Body Tag.

The choice is yours but think of the learning experience and the frustration fun you can have doing the old girl up.
Better get a job though to support the new habit.

Cheers
Dave.

Thought I should also point out the Grandma LC doesn't have a heater/demister and it has non power assisted drum brakes all round.

I would buy the grandma car, known starting point, original retains value
if you want to mod a lot can be done with $4000
disc brakes and fan heater would be good start

LC heaters are crap anyway and front discs are easy to fit - lots of nice upgrades available as well for similar $$ to what rebuilt standard LC discs would cost
