One of my next tasks is to restore my centre console. Ive already repaired a few cracks and what not..

Im thinking of stripping the old paint off it with a soda blaster with the pressure set down low?

Ive got the GMH Acrylic Chamois code, so all good there. My question is....

Is the flip up lid (this one)

Also painted Chamois? What colour would the shift boot be??? Black or chamois?

Any particular plastic adhesion primer to use?

This is a piece of console from my broken one, Ive used it to try out under the soda blaster. This was with the pressure down around 20psi. Seems to be pretty tough stuff. I started out at 5psi and worked my way up. Even at 50psi it didnt seem to damage the plastic if swept over the area!

Cool. I just found an old B/W pic of an LH interior, The console is a light colour possibly Chamois and you can see the flip lid and boot are most definitely black, Good one! Now I just need to get my arm rest back from the upholster's... They are re-covering it using my Chamois Vinyl, but that was 10 weeks ago and its still not done.....?
