Mine was still in the car so harder to remove but eventually I got it out,a few years back I fitted an Aftermarket Coupling? it came in a white box with a small blue GM logo on the box and it did not slide on the steering rod!!? the ID size of the coupling's holes were too small. I stupidly got the dremel out and reamed it out until it just slid on the steering rod but in the end it ruined that coupling as it was slightly on the piss because I had'nt opened up the hole uniform enough.
I dont know why that coupling didnt have the right size holes or if the Rare Spares ones suffer the same problem? so I just recently forked out $200.00 for a geniune new old stock Holden one and fitted that...
I just measured the ID Size on my original first coupling and it's measuring as 14mm so check the new one is that before you buy it....

A quality g-clamp and socket will also do the job.
