For those of you who stayed at Motto Farm Motel you may have noticed me taking a few pics and filming the cars leaving on the cruise. I've had a few request for a link to the video so I thought it best to jump on here and post it.

We enjoyed having all of you here and look forward to seeing you again next year.
Kind Regards

(thanks for turning on the weather once again! dont know how you guys manage to organise good weather every year!)
Had a ball, met some GMH-T members I hadn't before (Gene, Adam, Hamo etc)
there was one thing that I was impressed with this year, there were a significantly smaller number of non-appreciative children (and adults) running around touching people's cars.
the only person I had to ask to stop was a sem-blind young guy who had rubbed up an inner guard, then was putting his body weight onto one of the back windows as he leaned into the car.
Felt sorry for the poor buggers opposite the food truck again though (was us a few years ago) the amount of people that were leaning against, or being forced to cram up against the cars while lining up or trying to get past the line-up was pretty bad. Maybe those two spots infront of the food need to be left clear of cars in the future? (also gives some space so everyone can line up properly?)
The only real negative for the day (for us) was when I had an interesting conversation with a whack job, first off telling me that Dad's XU-1 was a 72 model (its an August 73 model...) Then after he looked at the plates he changed his mind....
Then, after asking about the restoration work, I told him that it was damaged down the passengers side and sat in a shed from the mid 80s, until we pulled it out in the late 90s. It was repaired using NOS panels bought back when first damaged etc etc.
He then looked at the chassis number (which was masked when the bay was painted, so is bare metal compared to the black bay) and told me that the car had been rebirthed?
I politely told him he needed to be very careful about saying things like that to people as its a pretty serious accusation to make, not only about someones pride and joy, but legally too.... bloke was just a moron I think.
I've got a few pictures (didnt take a whole lot) to throw up later on.
Thanks again Mick and the HVTC team, as well as Todd Martin (who came and said Gday as we were leaving) for yacking all day, he does a good job at that!

I saw that guy. He was looking at an SL/R and then started feeling the texture of the upper guard, rubbing it with his fingers, then he moved on to the chrome air cleaner and gave that a few good rubs too.

If you ask first, well, theres no problem, but to just think a disability gives you a right? well thats not cool.

True. The thing is he may have also had a mental disability or just not 100% clued in. He was with some friends and you’d think they’d know better to tell him how much cars mean to some people and to ask first or keep a distance.

Congratulations to the orgainisers. Very well organised event.
We went over the the other side on Saturday and watched them all arrive on the grassed area for the cruise.
(Just to sit and listen to them all arrive was great)
Then spent sunday walking around for a few hours.
we made a family competition out of it. each one had to chose their favourite.
My daughter liked the bright coloured LX (think the paintwork took her eye)
My son could not go past The orange LX. (which even i though was finshed of nice)
My wife (also be-dazzled by the bling) could not go past this blue LX.
and I kept going back to look at the bronze LC.
It was hard though as there were so many good cars to look at.
The highlight of the weekend for me was it just turns out it is my you blokes birthday on the 16th of september.
He had $50 dollars to spend and went of and came back with a xu1 keyring and GTR flag with the comment
"I bought the flag for you dad so when you bring your car next year you can put it on it"
Made me feel good.
Then we sat at the roundabout on the foreshore and listened to them leaving from 3pm onwards.
All in all a top weekend away.

ohhh its nothing new!
Every year for the past 5 or so years there has been a few experts at toranafest, always gives a giggle.
Usually when they start picking on bits that arent original (its not a full blown nut and bolt resto...its about to get a 5 speed and webers...)
the standard question is "where's your car?"
usually its "I dont have one" or "I didn't bring it"
in that case, they just get told, like you said, to frOck off and go tighten their own nuts at home.
