Just letting you kow that we made cheque Presentations to Ronald McDonald House - Newcastle, last night.
One cheque, on behalf of the Peter Brock Estate, for the sale of the Peter Brock Booklets, was for $2,500.00.
The other cheque for RMH was for $22,000.00!!
That is a record amount that we have been able to donate and CEO, Ross Bingham was speechless..
Thanks to all that attended and to all of those that made the day as great as it was..
cheers
Mick

Congratulations to the HVTC and everyone who came to toranafest.
If its ok to ask, what percentage of the 22k came from where? (i.e. entry fees, merch sales, other events?)

If the fest was to go to Canberra how would the funds (event takings) be distributed, would it all go to a charity in Canberra or split between the two towns, a question that can be asked at your AGM if not already thought of.
The reason i ask is, thats a lot of money that RMH is going to miss out on if they are not the charity chosen in 2014, i take it you have supported them for a very long time.
I know it sounds petty and there are a lot of other charities around but RMH was chosen for a particular reason and it would be a shame for it to change.
Just a thought on having other clubs help with the burden of the fest, if say the F@#d (shudder) club or historic club, etc were to get involved wouldn't they want to display their cars as well.
I don't have any answers to your dilemma or thoughts and questions and i hope you can find a solution before 2014 deadline.

The main reason for Toranafest to stay in Newcastle is the above
Congrats to Mick and the HVTC for their much appreciated efforts not only by Ronny McDonny House but by all Torana enthusiasts especially those that attend Toranafest.
