The 34th Mount Gambier Valvoline Autofest & Show N Shine supported by South East Street Machines remind you that the 2011 event has been rescheduled to 28th and 29th of January 2012.

The decision to merge the two events has increased the number of activities available for enthusiasts to participate in and the Mount Gambier Showgrounds has once again been chosen as the preferred venue with the January climate presenting as conducive also to the extended activities on offer.

Over the years the alcohol free Valvoline Autofest events have developed a circuit that have included, Murray Bridge SA, Corowa NSW, Shepparton Vic with a the most recent addition - Autofest at Mount Panorama Bathurst NSW - scheduled for March 2012.

Studies have established that Autofest events provide a multimillion dollar economic injection into the community and a conservative estimate of the Mount Gambier Autofest is in excess of $3 million.

The Valvoline Autofest events are about admiring the best cars in the country with family and friends in an alcohol free environment. Spectators to the event will witness some of the most powerful cars compete side by side in events such as:

‘Go-To-Whoa’ – fast paced action where timed vehicles compete over 140 metres and must stop on a designated point;
Autokana – fast paced obstacle course action, set against the clock;
Show ‘N’ Shine – competitors show their restoration expertise and the beauty of their cars;
Dyno Challenge – see cars go through their gears in a stationary position on the dyno machine;
Burnout Competition – everyone’s favourite event with its fast and furious action, a absolute must to see!

Cruise Track- see these beauty's cruise the showground.

“We foresee our relationship with the South East Street Machines, Mount Gambier A & H Society and the Mount Gambier Council will be a long-term partnership,” he said.

Council are pleased to support events such as the Valvoline Autofest and Show N Shine that showcase Mount Gambier and bring economic benefit to our community.

“We have a long successful history with our events in other locations and the fact that there is strictly no alcohol is a major factor in that. Everywhere there is an Autofest they are happy to have us and we’re very pleased to be coming again to Mount Gambier.

Autofest is a car festival especially for modified cars, but restored and original cars are also welcome and catered for. A highlight of the event would be the fiercely competitive Burnout Title.”
