XU2
The prototypes could well be possibly 72
But if you realy put your mind to thinking about it The only production XU2s where going to be the 150 specials they are late 73
As Dave benett was approached by GMH mid 73 to perform the head work witch is verified by him himself
So this would lead to be be-leaved as 73 XU2 prototypes of 1973
The records of any production car built is not a warranty record it is a security record that is used to say that a car is built in Australia and is certified to be registered under that apposed VIN for that car.
Imported cars can not be registered under there current VIN they come to Australia and are RE VINED for Australia info then is logded to the RTA as security recorded then the car will get REGO
As for the engine Prifix for a XU2 obversely they would of had a JT prifix first letter production code second letter high comp or the SL torana possably JS low comp or JR high comp
You seem to be a little Blind Sighted from the bright light of 1972
Mabe its just a micro sleep your having

So if they had a 6 Cyl or V8 or V12 or Washing Machine Motor there is no info on the Tags at all to tell you that,

date cast for 74 L34 heads was early 74 just prior to cars builtRicho
you are a Classic.
Dave might of been doing the L34 Heads in 1973 ?????????? wouldent one think, as the L34 came out in 1974, and they would of been in Development in 1973.
But Dave might of worked on the LJ V8 Heads for the XU-1 V8 Program, and when the 1972 Supercar Scare hit, and i mean 1972, The V8 LJ Program stopped.
So Dave just would of moved on to do Heads for LH instead of LJ V8.
You do add Colour to the Forum Richo (Willow Colour)
