Hey Garth,

I am pretty sure it will be finished by then, I might be driving it sitting on a milk crate.I am working on a FMG project and I think the Xmas break is only two weeks

23rd Dec to 7th Jan (I think Twiggy want his project finished yesterday) Will know for sure in the next couple of weeks of roster that I wil be given. If the iron ore price

keeps dropping I think I might have a bit more time on my hands coming up :D .

Hey Garth,

Looks like going to miss motorvation as well this year with my roster, I'm pretty sure I am working every event this year. Hopefully the torry should be finished by Xmas and I have a been given my de-mobe date (29.03.12) next year. I'm thinking of trying to find work in perth for a year so I can attend all of the driving events to give this rig a good work out.

Just a few photos of latest work done to the torry. The Browms radiator is in and plummed, lights and surrounds fitted. The diff is finished and on the way back to the shop and VN discs will be fitted, the next job will involve an acid bath for underneath and spraying on the sealer before the rest of he running gear is attached.

I love looking at these big boots, I think I might get some unwanted attention with these from the boys in blue :buttrock:

Looking good! I just noticed your rear flares don't go to the bottom of the sill that you typically see on a hatch - you not too fussed about that mate?

    That was easy!

Haha don't tell him that - mine were like that and I never noticed until someone pointed it out, from then on I couldn't stand them and had to replace them!

Arrrgh bloody hell I never noticed them :dohdoh: It looks like the 4 door flare that hasn't been cut. I'll have to wait and see if it starts to eat at me. Just did a quick look at few other hatch threads and noticed a couple of them have the same as mine.

G'day people it has been a while since the last update due to the diff being built which intern is holding up the rest of the installation of the running gear. Finally it has arrived and the workshop has hired some more staff to finish it off sooner than later. I forgot to write the details of the internals off the diff down (I will find out next visit). What I do know is the diff has semi/part time locker and VN discs and calipers fitted, I will get the axels and diff ratios next visit.

Once it was fitted a few problems have arised such a the big arse tyres are blocking the shock housing which meant either changing the rims or redirecting the chassis rails (mini tubs of sort) and installing coil over suspension. Considering the amount I have already spent on the widening the rims it made the decision to go the coil over pretty easy.

Also when it came to install the diff it was noticed that the rear flares were different widths of up to 20mm :banghead: this also made the decision to replace them easier because of what J.E.D picked up on a previous post that the flares don't run all the way down to the bottem of the sill. Would have been nice spotted earlier but you get that on the big jobs.

The wiring has also been reinstalled and modified, it can be started up but that will happen after the exhaust is fitted which could be up to 5 weeks away due the change to the suspenion.

G'day all,

Been five months since I seen my car in person due to my sh?&ty roster and the car not being at the workshop. Progress at the moment is the paintwork is finished, the black that was laid down had a few bumps through it fixed and the roll cage is painted. For the last 3 months it has been at the suspension gurus having the chassis rail moved and coil overs fitted. There was a decent wait on the parts due the original ones ordered were incorrect.

The car should be back at the workshop on tuesday for the exhaust to be completed and I will get some more photos of the work done.

I did get one photo of how it sits now with the 16 inch simmons with 315 mickey Ts fitted. Couldn't be happier with the ride height.

Mine are the same (been on the car since 2000) and I like them better than "real" hatch style ones. :D

LS1rana that was my first reaction when I saw it sitting on all four rims and tyres.

Jeff I've figured out what to do with the flares fitted. I'll use them for drag racing and burnouts and get the other hatch flares for normal driving duties.

Garth the wait is killing me but with winter now set in I'm now content that I will not be driving until summer, by the way that's a sweet looking munro you got there.

Well it's back in the shop ready for the exhaust to be fitted and got a chance to get some more photos.

The next couple of weeks it should be ready for start up and hopefully I can post  a video of that.

Not much to report lately just got back from a 6 week European holiday. The exhaust was due to be installed next, but my car was third in line behind a couple of monaros. Instead of having the car sit around for weeks waiting, there was a opening at the interior shop and had the car moved to keep the project progressing.

Ideas for the interior have just been copied out of car magazines, not trying to reinvent the wheel. As I have previously owned VE maloo I like the comfort and styling of the seats. It will be a four seater with a console running to the back in between two bucket seats that match the front. I've let the trimmers have a bit of free range with door cards and back of the hatch (their ideas were way better than mine).

Dropped into the trimmers today to have a look. They are moving along quickly, the mock up of the centre console has been formed up the speakers fitted to the back.

the bottom of the seats have the stitched together and waiting for the embroiders to finish the back of the seats.
