Dropped in to the trimmers and was blown away by the amount of work and the quality that was done in the 2 weeks since I last visited them. The seats, hatch area, roof door trims dash and carpet have all been completed. Just waiting on some gauges, NOS bottle and battery to be fitted and the rest of the interior will complete.

Very nice, i'm liking that backseat very much.
Yeah Mort I couldn't be happier with the way they have turned out.
There won't be many passangers over 173cm in the back as my head was a few mm away from touching it, but I don't plan spending to much time in there.

Hi Smarty,
That interior looks shemick!
I was looking at your roll cage and noticed that you have a removable taxi bar. Just wondering is the cage ANDRA approved with this?
Keen to know as I want to run a cage in my LC 2 door, but keep the rear seats also. I assume this is your reason for this?
Cheers Bullet

Hey Mark,
Yea mate, that was what instructed to the guys before the build that I want to get passengers to in and out but on race days bolt it back in. The couplings used for the removable taxi bar are approved, The shop that did the roll cage installation did some homework and this couplings were ANDRA approved.
They were ordered from the states and took ages to arrive. I could find out the supplier if you like.

That would be good if you could mate,
I was starting to think I would have to go without a back seat but this looks like the go.
Cheers Bullet

Now just waiting to get it in for the exhaust, hook up the fuel tank and start up. Then its back to the paint shop to fit the bonnet and fix up the spoilers.

Seats look comfy...
Is that a big wrinkle in the covering on the console area around the gauges though ?

77lxhatch - I was looking at the those couplers the other day and thought the same thing. I'm thinking some sort of rubber boot.
LS1 Hatch - I didn't notice that until the flash on the camera showed it up on the photo. There is a little bit more work to be done to the interior, the console has just been added to the list.

Sure it'll come up good after a little tweak here and there !

I had a word to the trimmer and he is confident that one day in the sun it will smooth out. Otherwise its going back.
I'm catching up with the car tomorrow to see if its in for the exhaust fit out.
Won't be long before I can upload a video of the shaffiroff firing up.

Dropped in to the the workshop today to see how things are going.
A few issues, since the install of the mini tubs the drop tank will not fit. To modify and degas the tank, the cost was too close to building a new one.
The decision was made to build a new one due to the fact the departure angle was close to being illegal.
Also it was notices that the relocated/hidden fuse panel ended up being covered by the customised console. This would make it hard to access.
That will need moving as well.
Progress:
The under carriage was sprayed with a black protective coating.

What's does that mean?
This car just gets better and better. I love what you've done and where it's going. Keep up the good work.

Grant,
I've been told if you line up the bottom of the tyre and back of the car, the tank cannot protrude past that line.

I'm not sure on the reasoning, maybe the clearance/angle needed for a tow truck?

The departure angle is on the NCOP engineering checklist for fuel tanks modifications code LM1.
Under the NCOP bumpers, exhausts, towbars and body modifications do not alter the departure angle even though they can protect the fuel tank from damage.
http://www.infrastru...1Jan2011_v2.pdf
Page 6
Departure Angle is the greatest angle between the horizontal plane and the plane from the static loaded rear tyres to the lowest, rearmost extremity of the Original Equipment Manufacturer’s (OEM) permanent body work.
