I believe its about what your engineer might accept... so ask him
He might not like random internet pages
Might be a hard copy paper guy
And wasn't this asked 3 times this week and covered already ?

point taken,and your right.Not saying don't ask
But the reality of it is no-one here has your answer
Only your rego authority and engineer can answer for you
Everything here is just speculative
Yes theres dozens of cars here done the way you want them.... but those owners aren't coming forward... maybe they don't have engineering
Ask your ego authority... get their answer and why
Then seek out the proof you need in written documents to support your case if its different to theirs
But the final answer is theirs... so ask them first

Yeah, I was going to ask a similar question.
What do you need to know ? I have the kerb weights of all LC/LJ variants in the appendix of my book & could provide copies of original source material if required.
Precisely what figures do you need.
Dr Terry
zodiac GTR it would be easier if you did not start a new topic for each question on the subject.

Would you know of a heavier lj in the series ?
Doesn't have to be gtr or xu1.
Cheers

thanksRacecars don't count
And the "Bathurst" name isn't a model... its someones dream
And if anything... depending who prepped the cars they might have been sneaky and dropped weight off them
I guess your stuck with the published figures
Unless you can convince someone otherwise

What state are you in? Have you started it or brought the motor yet, only asking because if you can prove that you owned the car and started it before the new rules came on the rta and some engineers are allowing these to be completed and rego before June 2012. If you are in nsw and meet the above details I can give you a number of a engineer who can help

I have modified the LC shop manual slightly.. In case the engineer already has a copy, tell him this is from the February 1974 revison which is quite rare and difficult to come by... the scan is of the 3rd page.... worth a go, I have bumped 3 of the models over the 1100kg mark. if its not high enough quality I can email you a copy or you might be able to click on it and grab it from my photobucket album..

The mass of the vehicle referred to in Tables LA1, LA2 and LA3 is the original (unmodified) tare mass of the model vehicle fitted with the largest engine available for the model in Australia but without optional accessories (air conditioning, tow bars etc.). The mass of the vehicle, whether it is a sedan, station wagon, utility, etc., should be based on the heaviest sedan version of the model (not station wagon version) sold in Australia.

What is wrong with weighing the car in question, and useing the weight ticket? surely that would be correct!
I have done this before for trailers and a couple of cars, I just went to my local weigh bridge and had it weighed!
1973 LJ's would be lighter than 1972 LJ's and factory Race prepared LJ's are lighter again!
Normal 1973 LJ's are lighter as they have smaller lucas Alternators with inbuilt regulators and shorter Lucas starters with aluminum windings too.
