Now that thats out of our systems, rob350hatch....We need to have a word.
The "dopey stnuc (?) houso stnuc (? again}" your likely referring to is a qualified panel beater who did his trade back in the day when it was legal to cut two cars of similar make and model in half and join them back together. He is speaking from experience.
I myself went "wtf have you done Tim" when i first saw the picks, the fish plates etc have cured my worries, and IMO crumple zones are for women, but still, perhaps you should think before you bag.
Oh yeah, and before anyone comments, no, myself and the dopey stnuc have had no correspondence on this matter, just thought i would chuck it in there.
Cheers.

Just F***ing awsome Timmy, carn't wait to see the end result, love you work mate. I would have no problems doing a pink slip on any of the cars you have run your hands over.
I guess your not going to need a Torana power steering rack for this one. LOL

Hahahaha sorry Lenny, no rack conversion needed for this one : )
OK, now as for all this other crap that's going on - well I post a lot of my work that I do, and in the raw not bogged up and primed, so I expect to get comments both good and bad as that's the price of putting myself out there. Plus you guys know I have thick skin and can handle opinions and constructive criticism. What pissed me off was when the negativity went from me to the owners pride and joy. Not cool at all. Keep your harsh comments about me, not someones car. Everyone here knows cars are more important than me so look after them OK! hahaahha!

I could find dry ice around here yet so did a bit more digging with a paint scraper and a hammer. Lucky me : )
The pic doesn't look too bad but the surface rust here in the rear foot well is fairly deep so I'll replace this part.
Excuse the dodgy photo, but you can see a rust hole in the floor under the pedals. I have to say digging tar off the floor under the pedals was the highlight of my year : )
Next thing to get done that was worrying me was removing the windscreen. The monza screen is taller than a commodore, and the owner tried to find a new rubber but wasn't having any luck, meaning I couldn't cut the rubber to pull the screen. I ended up calling a guy to come out and give me a hand. We managed to get the screen out in tact without hurting the rubber or the pain in the ass stainless trim that's inside the rubber. I was so nervous!!!!!
I was so happy at this point! Small victories hahaha.
Between the stainless trim, the heaps of goo holding the rubber and the fact the rubber goes under the front lip of the dash pad made getting the lower edge of the screen out a nightmare. All done now though luckily : )
Here's some of the goo I dug off the windscreen frame.
It survived!!!!
So with that done I had the joy of wire wheeling the window frame. The remains of that goo are forever in my hair and skin creases hahaha
So I'll post an old photo just to show what I have to do next.
This just shows how the commodore bonnet doesn't line up with the moza plenum. Much like an HZ bonnet on an HQ.
Looks much better!
Well that's it for now!

This is where that surface rust was on the floor in front of the rear seat.
This is the only piece of metal on the rear hatch.
And of course it has some rust in it : )
This is behind the rear drivers side wheel tub.
Before I etch prime it I taped the seam around the strut towers so when I seam weld them I don't have to worry about digging paint out of the seam.
We didn't bother blasting inside the spare wheel well as it's getting removed and a flat floor put in to allow for a drop tank.
We did however blast around the hatch jam and the inside of the tail light panel.
That's it for now. It's getting there slowly.

The LX hatch that I have lined up to buy which I thought was too rusty is actually not even as bad as this Monza
