The plan is to meet at the shell servo at the base of the westgate at 11.00 - 11.15 am to depart at 11.30 am.
We will be stopping at the maccas in Melton to pick up another couple of members then it is onto Ballarat Airport.
There will be a get together at the Ballarat Early Holden Club Rooms At 2pm.
Torana Tough will be launched by Leo Pruneau
Bring your Torana or your favorite set of wheels the Holden club will have a BBQ running.
Ive also recommended to the VTC members that on the way home that we can stop at pikes reservoir for a swim and or a great photo op with your car and the water as a background.
This should be a great day to get out in your torrie and show how great a car it is that we all love.
Cheers
Tony

Hi Guys, what happened to the 1pm meet at melton as discussed on our facebook page?
Daniel i expect us to arrive in melton between 12.00 - 12.15 then probably depart melton at approx 12.30 or so. Arrive in ballarat approx 1.15 -1.30 set up and a quick clean of the cars. The Launch is at 2pm So it will give us time to check out the other cars on display and enjoy the bbq.

There was a LJ XU! that appears to be a styling dept car as it had a range of rear spolier options and had been painted many colors. None of the ex gmh guys there would confirm that it was one of the V8 prototypes.
The range of Vip's was good as Leo Pruneau was thee he spoke about how he originally started on the viva in england, he actually designed the rear doors for the sedan in england and didnt know that the doors were stamped in Oz then shipped back to england for the viva.
He spoke of his history from the LC XU1 thru to the death of the torana. All the fun things we missed out on etc.
I was able to get a few signatures in my copy of the book. ie:
Norm Darwin
Leo Pruneau
Phil Zmood
Joe Felice.
All up i think it was a pretty good day.

The colour 'barney's shirt ' is on my LJ and on a HQ GTS coupe , both built jan '71 . the cars never went to an internal colour show as they were both built to be show cars and the colour was not used again.
Would be interesting to find out how many forum members have or have seen paint tags like these as there were up to 30 or more cars in an internal colour show.
Should shift this to the paint and panel section as there is already a thread on the 'barney's shirt ' colour.
